You should look into the service provider first, then the phone. You can pay $1000 for a phone but if it doesn't work in the area you need it to work, then it's not really worth anything. On the flip side, you could spend $10 for the phone & you get service everywhere you go, then you might be happy with it. Basic phone features are: calls, messaging, camera & data. Every single features on all the phones are pretty much an extension of these 4 basic options. Obviously, all the phones can make & receive calls & all the phones have the capability of sending & receiving text messages. If that's all you need, then look for the service provider that will work best around where you live. Chances are, they'll have pretty decent basic phone for reasonable price. If you'd like to take some pictures, then go for the ones that have camera. If you need to connect to internet, but just for simple things, then you don't need to go high tech. But if you're away from home a lot & need to have faster internet connection for either for your work & personal reasons, then look for phones that have at least an wifi option, 3g help, too.

I reawlly think it depends on what kind of features you want on the cell phone. here are some that have more features tham others, so i f you like a lot of features then go for one that them, but if ou don't then go for one that has less. I do think though, that if you could find one that has a good battery life then I would choose that one. Mine has a long life battery, and that is why I bought it. I only have to charge it once a week at the most. It has a touch screen, and a qwerty keyboard, which makes it nice for texting. It is the nicest phone I have ever had, and I am glad that I bought it. Take care and happy mylotting.
