I have kids ages 7 and 3. Both are boys. I am planning to get them a gaming console for Christmas. I am just not sure what to get them. So far I have narrowed my choices to the following: PS3, Wii or Xbox 360. Both have prices ranging from 200 to 300 Canadian Dollars. I have the budget for that already, the question is what would be the best one suited for my kids. I want a console that have a variety of games for my kids ages. Any suggestions are very welcome.

It's by far the Nintendo Wii! It's very simple and fun to play, the video games are cheaper also! Your kids would love it!

In my opinion, the Wii would be the best choiche, because there is a lot more family oriented games and you can use gamecube games, which are as family oriented as the wii ones. Also, I think wii games are easier to get into and the controls are less complicated than Xbox for example. I own a xbox and a wii and when my little cousin come to play, they prefer way better the wii than my xbox.
Hope I helped you.

I would probably have to say either the Wii or a nintendo ds. Nintendo generally has games that are more appropriate for younger kids and don't have a lot of games with violence or anything like that. Nintendo has always seemed to have a bit friendlier games with classics like Pokemon and Super Mario.

The wii is the best for the kids because it has more kid frendly games they have games for adults and they have games for the family so everbody has something to do with the wii and its pricee $199 can't be beat by any system

The best console would be the Wii. Its has alot more titles aimed at Children. The xbox360 and PS3 dont have many games aimed at Children and the ones that are, are mostly movie tie-ins. Plus i'd say most of the games for Xbox360 and PS3 usually start around the age range of 12+
The wii is more family Friendly and i'd say it would be easier for them to control.
If you ever decided to go down the route of handhelds the ds would be perfect also.
My Nephew 5 and niece 3 play the wii and they find it very fun.

For kids that young I would definitely suggest getting the wii. It's much more family oriented than the other two consoles and there are a lot of new game coming out for it that little kids would like. Some of those would be wii sports, wii play, and wii sports resort. Those game really take advantage of the motion controls and that really seems to amaze everybody =)

I would have to recommend a wii console. These are more family oriented, atleast in my opinion. You can easily search for games on the Nintendo site itself, or by going to gamestop.com as well. Even amazon.com is great! Nintendo.com offers a way to expand your search to allow only game genre's you want to see, and I believe even ratings too!
Well That's my opinion anyway.

For those ages, I think a Nintendo Wii is more appropriate than Xbox or PS3. But if you think your kids are heavy gamers, then you can choose either Xbox or PS3 in that sense.
