to find the discussions that your friends in here have been starting? This is a Good way to keep up with some of your friends who are active here that have been starting New discussions. Actually for me since I continue to have major Email issues from time to time, this is the easiest way actually for me to keep up with all of my friends here as time permits.
But I will take time and respond back to people who respond back in my discussions I have started and usually will go and see if their is a discussion that they have started I can respond back too as well, so this way I can maybe meet some others who are not on my friends list yet as well.
But I was wondering if there are others here who also do this, or is this something most here have never considered doing yet as well? If you have never done this, try it sometime. For me it makes it a lot easier usually to find discussions my friends have started that I might be missing out on as well.

I do and for two reasons; when you are going back and forth in a discussion myLot will only notify you for so long of new comments so you have to go and check manually. The other reason is I do not have alerts set for everyone in my friends list because I would have a ridiculous amount of email.

Well, when you have as many friends as I do in here, I do get a lot of Email when the notifications are working. But since I also try and take time when I can to respond back to people responding back in the discussions that I have started, it does keep me quite busy for sure.

It was simpler when I first started out; now I only keep notifications on for a few people. Some people are very prolific in their discussion starting and it just takes too long to sort through all the email notifications to get to your important mail. I also check the no responses tab quite often.

Well, it is true, that some people here do start a lot of discussions and it is hard to keep up.

Hi. I use this option all the time! This is where I will go first when I log in to respond to my friends discussions started so we can all keep in touch.I then go into my started discussions to reply to any responses. I then go look at my interests to see if any topics have been started that I would like to respond to. I will also check out new users and no responses as I like to respond to these discussions if I can.

Hi KrauseHome, it's rather sad that very often the notification email does not work well. Therefore I usually will bookmark those friends who like to have mutual interaction. This is the best way to trace their new discussion easily and conveniently. Some of them are diligent and will start new discussion every now and then, but I’m rather sluggish in writing post for not having much spare time. Amid them I will pick the ones really interest and I have opinion and idea to deal with
Beside I do like picking discussions which I could cope with it easily from links like “friends started”, “today’s top”, “no responses” and so on. Yeah, I always entertain those friends who have responded my new discussion first. Since I could write a few posts only once I log in and this surely will take me quite some time to settle
Take care and happy posting

Yes, there are a lot of times where the notifications may not work as well as they should, so it is harder to keep up with the New notifications of Friends started discussions this way. And then if you are limited in time like I am most of the time, it is hard to keep up with them anyway you try.
So I find myself keeping up many different ways here, and find it worth doing as I have time.

I know I do because what was the reason of becoming friends anyway if your not interested in want they have post? Will that is how I look at things. I usually go to the friends start tab first to see if theres something of my interest, hobbies, or maybe I can even just give or receive some healthy advice.

Yes, that often is a Great reason. If they are people you can relate with and really want to be friends with, it is worth keeping up with them. Often you will find a lot of their advice something you really needed or want to adept into your life as well.

Yes, I get e-mail notifications of all the discussions that my friends start here on myLot. Every time I get a new friend, I turn the "notify" on in my friends list.
I think it is important that I support all friends when I can. If I have nothing to say on a certain topic, then I can't do this. But when I can, I will. That's what friends are for... - - Derek

Well, I do what I can when I can. I have a lot of friends in here and little time sometimes. But when I see a discussion one of my friends have started here, I am interested in responding back too, I respond back and hope for the best from there.

Yes, that is the way I have been doing for years. I still also take time to respond back in discussions that someone here had started more if they are ones that are taking time to respond back in my discussions as well.

That's how I know I don't get notified of all the discussions started by friends, even though I have "notify" set to "on".
I also use it to follow up on discussions: I'm also not notified of all secondary comments (replies to replies).

Well, there are a lot of times when this site is not notifying us like they should, so any way you find a good way to keep up with your friends on here the better.

So far my e-mail gives me all that I can handle so I have not done this. I do check once in a while when I haven't heard from someone for a while and if I find they are making discussion I am not getting I answer one on their lists.

Well, I have done that, and from Emails, etc. Since my time seems to be so limited anymore it really is hard to keep up here, but doing what I can.

Hi kraushome, I get alerts when my friends start discussions but I prefer to tab over and use the friends list to find it if I'm interested as don't like responding just from the mail box. So I can read them in mail and delete the ones I won't be answering and get to the rest if there's time. I tend to use just the friends started and other stuff from the home page to respond to, unless I'm doing a bit of stalking.

Well, a lot of the time I find myself more responding to the Friends started more than what is in my Email as well. Especially since a lot of time my time is limited. Yes, I am known to miss out on some Good discussions but if I have time I go to my myLot folder I have created in my Email for friends started discussions and respond back from there.

Thanks for your sharing your experience with all friends here. Through this way, we can keep up with our friends easily and find discussions our friends have started.
Sometimes, the notifications feature of myLot may be gone wrong for some unknown reasons, then, we will have no ways to know that if our friends here have started new discussions. At that time, the best way for us to keep up with them is to visit theit started links. Through such a meathod, we can get familiar with their latest actions with least time.
Happy myLotting!

Usually check my friends discussions before anyone elses. Generally people on your friends list are more likely to give you a direct response, and not just respond to the topic.

Yes, this is true with some of the friends here, as we do try to respond back to the active friends here the most, but we also are taking time to post back to others to find New friends here as well.

Well, the thing with friends here is not everyone is going to be Active and stay Active. You just hope that they will, and if not find new ones from there.

When I log into myLot, unless I have messages, I go straight to "Friends started" for new discussions. Then I check through "responded" to see if further comments are needed, and "started" to reply to comments there. If I have any more time, I'll check discussions under "my interests"

Yes this is good, especially when the discussions are not coming to your in box. I know I have done this many times, and will try and catch up. Or I will go to someones profile and catch up from there from time to time as well. It is always good to keep up with my friends.

I almost never search out discussion to respond to as I have all my friends notifications turned on. I keep my friends list to a manageable number so that I am not overwhelmed with emails.

Well, there are a lot of people here who I would consider a Friend, and some I have talked too on the phone, etc. But personally it is really hard to keep up, but I know the ones that I can keep up with I look forward to continually hearing from as well.

Hi Tina!
Whenever I open myLot home page, I most of the time open the link 'discussion by my friends'. I love to respond to my frineds discussions. I don't rather can not keep the notification 'on' for every friend. In this case the link 'discussions by friends' comes very handy.

Well, it is true that many times we are notified by Email when someone on our friends list starts a New discussion and we can keep up from there, but since my time is always so limited here, I tend to many times just respond back as New discussions are started off the friends discussions as well.

Since I work from my emails, yes I use the "friends started" tab to see what my friends are doing especially on the days my emails seem to be slow to scarce. That is a great way to keep up with your friends. I just wish there was a tab for our top 10 friends. I have a lot of friends on my list that never start exciting discussions. I have to wade through those to get to the good discussions from my other friends that do write good discussions.
I also check out the "no response" & "new user" tabs just to see what is there. I have made wonderful friends from people I have met there!!! Actually, I tend to visit ALL the tabs somewhere along the way, I try to not limit myself to just certain friends & one way of doing what I do. I believe that variety is the spice of life!!!

Yes, it is true that often times you will have friends on here who suddenly become inactive, never start discussions, or just not very active so many times there is not much communication there, but for the others starting interesting discussions it is Fun to keep up with theirs. As for New discussions and New people yes, especially if they continue to want to be active here it is a Good thing for sure.

Yes, it can be interesting. Many times besides the Emails I save as they come in and try to respond back too as I can if I am interested in them, is a good thing. It does take time, but interesting to see what people are posting there.
