I used to think God was an old mean man sitting on a throne watching everything I did wrong. The more I read in the bible the more I came to realize God isn't anything like a human being, more of a spirit or force. Its very interesting to read the description of God in the book of revelations. Jesus said God is a spirit and must be worshiped in truth and spirit.

I feel that it means we are to be of one mind without doubts and not divided as we were in the beginning. I see it as not in looks but in thought and actions but we have lost it need to get back to that.

That scripture then goes on to say that we are spirits as well - which we are inside of our bodies.
I think of God as a very loving all powerful and all knowing being and we are created in his image - meaning we look like Him.

I like the way you interpreted the question. I agree and I understand the old man part. I feel that God is in my heart, but also God is something I will encounter when I die and go to Heaven. He will be sitting there in his white robe and he will sit down at a desk and ask me what I did in this world to honor and spead His love. =)

if there are many, who knows what will happen to the universe. think it the simplest way, the world has many leaders thus many powers and the world has suffer enough just by this many so-called human leaders and powers. can u imagine if there are many gods?
'He'is merely a word that we human created ourselves to simplify our understandings. if u can create another word to describe, then feel free to share.

Zamrud, you are applying human traits to deities. Why assume that a group of gods would act the same way as a group of humans? I know a lot of humans act like they are in the school playground but to project that onto other beings is your choice.
"he" is a gender specific designation.
Anyway, back to the main point.
A lot of religions are polytheistic - having many gods - and often these are said to have shape (not always humanoid) but I suspect that humans apply those to help them comprehend. Often we are brought up to view deity in a particular way. Those with a Christian worldview, for example, will generally refer to god as "he" and follow the idea that "god made man in his own image". When you are taught such a thing it can be difficult to shake even when you claim to no longer be Christian or believe it. A lot of professed atheists hold a Christian worldview and state "I don't believe in god" and get a bit confuddled when asked which one they don't believe in... *grins*

God is not a creation, God is the creator. He is no beginning or ending. He is the most powerful, most merciful, most intelligent, But we cannot compare these attribute with our power, mercy and intelligence, it is something that we can understand in human perspective, God is far beyond that.
God Says in Holy Quran:- "Say, He, Allah(God) is One, He is not dependent on anyone (Self sufficient), He neither begets nor begotten (neither give birth nor born), and there is none comparable unto him." (Quran 112:1-4)
"Allah – there is none worthy of worship except Him, the Ever-Living, the sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His throne of dominion extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great." (Quran 2:255)
God has no image, no idol. God is God, The ONE, creator, sustainer, cherisher of all that exists.
Peace.

God is a spiritual Being. He has no physical body nor will ever choose to have. We are spiritual beings as well. This physical universe exists only to aid in the lessons we are to learn. All God's children will be educated. God is very very intelligent. We are but mere ants but we are learning. God isn't like what religion teaches. God is Unconditional love with an intellect over the top. Believing isn't important to God. Be who you must! It's a part of the plan!!

I cannot ever imagine God to be a personal being. That brings so many negatives along with it to god himself. A starter would be like, that would make god a narcissist who created us just for worshiping him!
My God is the Absolute Consciousness, which is impersonal and not anthropomorphic in any way. I trust the monist (mystical) philosophy.
Its location can be said to be everywhere. It's omnipresent and every single entity in the universe is a graded manifestation of it.
It does not make any difference to him whether I worship him or not; and the way I behave. My soul takes my decisions independently, in the afterlife.
Those are just my views (and of some others that I find sensible)though.

John 4:24 says "God is SPIRIT, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth."
So there, God has no physical form, He is Spirit. and a spirit is like a wind, you can feel but you can never see. God is so intelligent He was able to put that approx. 28 feet of intestines in your tummy without being digested in your stomach. haha He's not a kind of force, He is the creator of force Himself. His persona, the Holy spirit, is the force which lead us closer to Him. :)

I don't believe that God is *A* anything. I think that God is a presence, a spirit, all-things. As the Hebrew word (best translated in English to) YAWEH suggests, "I AM." What is God? God's answer "I AM" as in "I am" (God is) everything. God is all around us. And because I don't see God as one BEING, I don't give God a gender either, which is why I don't refer to God as "he,"
