How long will mylot last?

United States

Mylot.com has been going on for only about few years, and it has already gotten over 190,000 people to sign up (though most of them aren't active). So, I was wondering how long this website would last, considering all factors. If they got too many people, for example, and didn't have enough money to pay everyone then mylot would probably shut down. So. . . how long do you think this website will go on for? 10 years? 20? 30? What can you think of that result in this website closing down?

I do not know how long MyLOt will last. There is a lot of things that I do not know about the model to make a prediction. Many internet business models are not sustainable, but so far I have been doing this on and off for over a year...so we shall see.

It is true, that no one can really know when a company like mylot will end. It really is a bit unstable out here in the internet. . .

Reading through the responses and seeing younger users saying that they hope that myLot will last forever means it is going to be around decades from now! I have been here almost three years and have seen the changes that have been made and all have been done with intentions of staying I feel that there is no site even similar and that once more and more people realise that it IS fun here and we are definately getting paid, then more will join slowly but surely. Where other sites fail myLot has proved that they are here to stay - and I hope for a long, long time to come!

I'm sure that as long as the people here keep starting discussions and not worrying about the money then mylot will last a long time. Hopefully myLot's payments will attract many more people and keep this site going. Mylot truly is unique and is much more impressive than any other sites, and hopefully the fun of the conversations rather than the money will really help myLot become successful. It's a website that I would want to have around for the rest of my life

I hope mylot will last. It has been going strong so far, and I think it will stand longer years until I don't know when. Until a new processor comes; from Windows XP to Vista and etc2x. I hope mylot will not go away. Here is a very relaxing portal for me, I couldn't make do without it..

hi merlinsorca I have no idea how long mylot will last but right now it does seem pretty popular and there must be 'more active members than you think or they could not afford to keep paying us and keep on being mylot. I would hazard thirty years or more.if this economy turns around it could last for a long, long time. Hope so as I love mylot and mylotting.

Well, hopefully mylot gets real popular and they make a lot of money. Then it would be nice seeing this site last for thirty years. I wonder how it will be like in the future. . .

So pleased to see you are finding your way about and enjoying it too. I see you are really busy and you sound like you are having FUN! That comes through when I read you and it makes it worth telling others that they don't realise what they are missing if they don't join. Keep it up!

Hi Merlin Mylot has been around now for 4 years as I joined just after it appeared, it has gone through a lot of glitches with the Site and the Members I think if they was a chance that they would run out of Money they would set a limit to things, but they have added a few more things to earn Money, which I do not take part in as I am here to communicate with Friends and to respond to Discussions that I know I can I am not to sure what is behind mylot but I think it will last a while but again no one can say and I would not put a time period on it

Well, hopefully mylot can last very long and be able to pay their members and make a nice profit, too. It has been running steadily for a few years already and it seems to be off to a good start, maybe mylot will stay on the internet for a long time. . .

Hi merlin, I will stay positive and say that I think My Lot will outlive my life time!. It's a fantastic website and I really do hope that it remains unchanged forever. Many My Lotters have come to rely on this site now and it would be an absolute disaster if it were suddenly to disappear! There's nothing that I know of that is on a par with My Lot! There's just no comparison! Andrew

It would be great if mylot would could outlive us! That means we can use this website for the rest of our lives, and even better: more people will be able to experience mylot! But it may sadly go through some changes in those years, for better or for worse. . . It definitely would be saddening to one day hear that mylot had to shut down. I hope that never happens.

If mylot concentrate more on the task exchange business, it will definitely last forever. It also needs to modify its social networking part a lot, the way ORKUT changed its interface to compete with Facebook. If mylot can come up as a social networkign gaint then am sure it will overpower facebook and orkut both.
• United States
16 Nov 09
Lol, I honestly don't think mylot will ever change enough to be like Facebook or orkut. Those are huge, but they are, in my opinion, not like mylot at all! Mylot is unique in it's own way, and if it ever became like Facebook I would leave. I mean, Facebook is fine and all, but it is not made for discussions like these. It is more about talking to people you know but in mylot you can have nice conversations with strangers. . .

I believe that myLot is a stable website and it won't close down it instead expand to a broader site and would definitely have more followers.

I do agree with you, mylot is a good website and it would be more likely for it to expand instead of closing down. I just hope that with the new members this site will also have enough money to pay off the members. . .

As far as I'm concerned , Mylot will last for a long time. However, It doesn't how long it will last. We just can still get a lot things before mylot shuts down. I acn get money , friends and knowledge...Just keep ourselves active.

Yes, it is true that we can still benefit a lot from mylot before it shuts down. But it is such a good site, I doubt it will go down anytime soon. It must last a much longer time. . .

i think with the rate this website is going, as long as they'r still paying people they'r going to last forever, other than having other competitors with better offer. think bout it, who pays u to discuss?

I don't know how long it willlast, but I hope a very long time. I am planning on enjoing myself in here while it is still around. I know the population is high, but I doubt if all are active, as some come and some go. I think a lot get frstrated that they aren't making a lot of money in here, but they should have known what this site was like before they joined it. When I first came in, it was soley for the money, but now it is much more than that, as I have learned so much and gained lots of friends, and I am so glad of that too. I am gld that I found mylot, but I sure wish I had found it sooner than I had, but hey, now that I am here, I am not going to go anywhere. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I am sure that we all hope that it lasts a long time, mylot is one company that I want to be successful. If more people came here not for the money but simply for the discussions then mylot will surely prosper. I do hope that this website goes on for a long time. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I think that mylot will last a very long time into the future, well, I hope that it does. . . I think that I would also still come here even if they did not pay us. But, in all honesty, since they wouldn't give money I would probably post a lot less. I hope that mylot lives long and prospers

hi merlinsorca well according to me the site will get something new that it will make earning more tough or will announce some affiliate programs so that they could pay less.well about this site to get over i think it will be more than 20 years.

Well, I do hope that whatever it is they add will help keep this site going on for a long time. It would be nice to see mylot go on just for 20 years. . .

It's a practical question for all the business models.I've only registered MYlot for 3 days,it's quite uncertain for me about the situation that will going on. The member number here is not that large so we can take it easy. Hope mylot will be a successful business model.

Lol, how true, when you really think about it the mylot population is not very large. But I hope that whatever happens, mylot will make it's money and will go on for a long time. This is one of the few companies that I actually want to be successful. Oh, and welcome to mylot! I hope that you come to love this site as much as I do
