Many people frowned upon the mention of multi level marketing (MLM). MLM which is also know as network marketing bypass the middleman and large advertising companis to market its products through the word of mouth. It is based on the simple concept of telling your friends and acquaintance something that you find useful and beneficial to them and in the process you get a commission when they buy.
It has come a long way since the old days when one have to ship the products to the end users. Now, you only need to "recruit" your friends out and you get earning by referring and consuming processes.
Many people wonder whether MLM is the real deal to make money as many people has the perception that they have to sell to make money. "I don't like selling" is what I always hear. But what people don't realize it they are dong selling everyday,... in a subtle way. When you are working, you are actually selling your service. Trying to get a promotion or more bonuses, you are promoting yourselves and services you offered to your boss.
I think when it comes to selling, especially in a sale job which offers more rewards when you are being to get a higher sale amount, people freak out. Putting the amount of money that one makes on the line (by closing sales deals) really put the pressure on. If no sale is being made, no money or very little money is being earned. And the question that will pop out from that is how am I going to survive in the coming days?
What's your view on MLM? Any successful MLM people here?

I have read a lot of getting rich books/e-books recommending MLM or networking as a great way to succeed financially. My view is that MLM or networking is the best way for you to learn effective selling skills. I noticed that companies engaged into this type of business normally provide trainings/seminars on selling successfully. However, I get frustrated because most of these companies don't really focus on the effectiveness or quality of their products when attracting potential members. Instead, they usually flash/brag the big houses, beautiful cars, etc. of successful members to entice would-be members.

I do agree on you on the ways most networking companies using the reward parts to get people jump into their bandwagon. The lucrative bungalow, the ever elusive vacation, cool sport cars and anything cool is the stuff that these companies normally resort to get people on board their ship.
As I am a technical person, I am more interested in the products and plans that can get one have had successes in network marketing. I often ask myself the following questions:
What are the products that the companies deal in? After all, we (our downlines) need to consume products to get a win-win situation. Better still, if the product is one that people purchase repeatedly. Don't get me wrong. Everyone is in on something for the money but for me, at least, I want my full dedication and concentration to reward me. And I also want to do it morally.
What type of products do the company deal in? Or the company only has one product? Believe me, I have joined many company that has an unique product and it won't last long after the initial fad and hype.
How is the company's training plan? Does the company provides endless number of boring meetings and seminars? Does the company uplines actively support its downline to get them successful? Say, the upline contribute training material and gifts to their downlines to help them to make them successful in the plan that they have signed up.

Oh, same here. I'm also a very technical person. I'm an auditor/accountant by profession so for the longest time, I believed that selling is not my line. But as years go by, I realized that everything on earth is about selling. Even in my profession, I have to sell my services to prospective clients. I'm not closing doors to any MLM/networking business, it's just that I have not yet found the best company with quality products to promote and sell.

I think network marketing is one of the simple way to promoting a product by using people networking help. As we know that everyone have friends and each of their friends also have many friends. By using this fact for business or marketing, we can assure to having many people paying attention on our products or services. The fact is if the network is big and bigger, the more people will see and knowing about our products or services so we can get bigger chance for gaining more profit from those people. I think network marketing really need us to work harder at the first time but when we have a strong network, we don't need to be afraid about promotional purposes anymore because we can use our network for promoting our new products or services, or perhaps promoting other's products for helping them growing. Having a strong network however is just like having a good customer chains which are our legal customers. It's not necessary whether they will buy from us now or not, at least we can still promoting every new products to them and they will helping us indirectly for the marketing purposes by promoting again to their friends who actually are under them on the network. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Seem like you know lots about network marketing and the concept behind it. You must be someone who is very successful in network marketing or to a lesser extent an active networker. If not, I think you would make a great network member. If not, you would have miss out a gold pot there as you could make a ton of money with such a knowledge coupled with a positive mind.
