The first test has currently begun and India won the toss and have scored 105/4 after opting to bat first. The inexperienced srilankan attacked has ripped apart the indian top order. Dravid and Yuvaraj have rescued Indian innings which was tottering at 32/4. Given the pitch is a batting paradise and can take spin, India have gambled with 2 spinners and 2 seamers. With not effective 3rd seamer even if one seamer has an off day it will be difficult scenario for MSD. Given all these conditions who do you think will win the first match of the test series between the two subcontient teams - India and Srilanka. Your opinions are welcome

India must win this test match after their humiliating defeat against Australia on their home grounds. So India have to play much more aggressive and more attacking to keep SriLanka down in this series.

India seems to have better chances to win this game as their batting line up is very very strong.Let us hope for the win...

I guess its too early to say who can win. I think Dravid and Dhoni have given the team more hopes of not losing the match. But because the scoring is so fast I think the possibility of result is more than a draw.
The main factor which I think will decide the outcome of the match is Zaheer's comeback. If he gets back into the grove with the first few overs then I think India can gain aupper hand. The pitch though is too flat and if any of the players from Lanka decide to put anchor then it will not be easy top get them out.
If I have to take a call now I would say India has the momentum and if they carry it on they should win. And like Dravid said, If India wins his innins would be more meaningful.

Hmmm..India just got all out at 426.That's not a good score in this wicket.Though i don't think not having the third seemer is going be that crucial. There is nothing really for the pacers except for the first hour or so in the morning. There is no spin in the wicket either.I think this is heading to a draw.

India ended the day on a strong 385/6. If they can reach 500 tomorrow, then they would be in a extremely strong position, but the scoring in this match has been so fast that it might yet to be too early to speculate a winner. But Dravid's knock was really special today and the skipper also played a good knock and for me unnecessarily threw his wicket with 3 overs to spare.
Yuvraj missed out another chance for a century due to his impetuosity and must really be regretting the shot he played.
Cheers!

By this time (Dhoni just got out after a superb century) it is almost clear that India will not lose this test match. It was a great recovery by Dravid, Dhoni and Yuvi with some fantastic batting display. Good to see Yuvi filling up Ganguly's place nicely.
I think the only concern now for india is opening pair Sehwag and Gambhir who were so brilliant for last couple of years. I hope both will come good in second inning but before that indian bowlers have their task cut out on a 'second day good batting pitch'.
