What is the number one reason couples break up?

hola shona264. just a simple answer. lack of honesty and lack of sincerity.

they started liking someone else more than you.. i mean they got impressed by someone else by realizing that you don't have particular thing in you which they have..

trust, communication, and time

The number one reason why couple break up is cheating, or having a third party and that is the worst and most hurting part of a relationship. The next one is being incompatible with each other, having different interests and goals in life.

Actually as what you said their are a lots of reasons But the commonly reason of it was: unfaithful,jealousy,mistrust,dishonesty,specially they didn't put god on the center of their relationship. I am happy with my partner now he has everything i am looking for and the secret for a long term relationship is "do not jump to the conclusion to all of your problems analyze first the situation or problem before deciding in short, Think million times before you decide" that's all

Infidelity ranks the most why couples are breaking up...Some are not really contented with their partners...Temptations are everywhere but I guess if a person knows his/her boundaries, he/she can resist it=)

Lack of trust is the major reason why most of the relationship break in my point of view .No relationship survives with out trust and love for each other . A lie to hide something and reveal of the truth most of the time is the root of a relationship failure.

Same here, lack of understanding, trust, and time. These are one of the most common reasons, but a lot times it's the guy's fault, I should know it because I'm a guy. But I'm not doing stupid things like breaking up because I loved another girl, I just don't want to reason out something like that. I know some friends that did it and nothing happened, he went back to her ex but now he can't get back the past relationship because of the mistake he did. So let's be careful to the decisions that we are doing.

I think is the number one reason why couple break up is cheating on either party. Couple tend to have excessive arguing but this doesn't result to break up at times. Trusting a partner is really important in a relationship and if that honesty will broke because he/she cheats, then for me, that's the time relationship will come to an end.

I think the number one reason why couples break up is because of the lacking of trust with each other, trust is very important to relationships, and for me if there is no trust, the relationship wont last long.

i believe the topmost reason is because they began to fail to understand each other. once this happens, there will come all sorts of other problems: betrayal, cheat, bored, hatred,loneliness,left-behind... when people stop understanding each other, they began to talk in different languages. when this happens, love is truly hard to stay alive.

different views and opinions... resulted in alot of arguments... n 2 of them became stubborn thinking they shudnt apologize... in time the relationship became cold n breakup was inevidable

I think the main reason couples break up is taking each other for granted. When you start taking someone for granted, you start to lose appreciation for him/her. This makes the affected partner feels unloved and uncared for. When this happens the affected partner might react negatively with festering anger. Consequently arguments will erupt and most likely a breakup happens:)
