hi all mylotters, helo me to get rid fo my coffee addict!! most of us have a morning routine that goes something like this- put your feet on the floor, make the bed, and rush for a coffee machine, yup , it is my life. cofferr is a daily ritual for me ,and maybe for many people worldwide. however coffee contains high amount of sugar and cffeine, substance not known for their health benefits. no matter is i wan to lower my sugar intake, or avoid caffeince, giving up coffee is not nearly as easy as i know. please take coffee away from my life...

Did you try a caffeine free alternative? Anyway; I found out with time that the best way to feel energetic during the day, is to eat the right things. Drink lots of water, take at least 5 portions of fruit and vegeetables a day and cut down on complex carbs, and increase the amount of fibre in your diet. And lower the amount of protein you take. If you follow this basic rule, you will feel so energetic that you won't need any coffee in the morning. And when you wake up, take a glass of fresh cold orange juice!

advice from our brother ravend I think is a good thing. or may be you can change your "breakfast" with another drink, like tea or milk. and you still can drink coffee some time...

BROOOTHER???!! :P Well... that's surprising..I am a sister thanks... :P not brother. Anyway - Yes, replacing it with milk or tea is ok - but I mentioned the Juice cos juice is full of a lot of vitamins. Oh and DO take a good breakfast. A slice of wholemeal bread or a bowl of high fibre cereal would be perfect!

I am a coffee drinker too. I drink four to five cups of coffee a day, starting from breakfast time. I used to drink black coffee, but later changed to coffee with milk and sugar. And, to make it weaker, changed to decaffinated coffee, with milk and sugar. But, recently I saw a news report in the newspaper that drinking coffee reduces the risk of diabetes.

I read an article at ehow.com about tips on how to Give Up Drinking Coffee..Hope it would be useful to you: 1. Switch to herbal tea. Some teas are not caffeinated and are flavored with berries and herbs. Even if you want to quit coffee, and don't want to throw caffeine out of your life, try a tea that is caffeinated. Because teas have more health benefits, such as anti-oxidants and have less caffeine than coffee, they are better for you. 2. Juice it. For a morning pick-me-up that doesn't require a coffee or travel mug, make a smoothie. This will give you a sugar boost for the morning, and will count as an easy breakfast. 3. Ease yourself off. True coffee addicts have withdrawals, such as headaches and irritability. If you are a true addict, in order to quit coffee safely, weaning yourself away from daily cups of joe may be your best bet. Start by calculating your coffee intake on a regular day and cutting it in half. Try that for a couple of days and then go down to a fourth. 4. Try honey and lime. Tea is not for everyone, and when you try to quit coffee you may want to stay with some sort of hot liquid. Mix a cup of hot water with a spoonful of honey and some lime or lemon juice. 5. Drink lots of water. Coffee can make you feel dehydrated, so as you quit coffee switch to iced or tepid water. This will help you feel less tired from dehydration and keep you from reaching for your caffeinated friend. Hope these tips would help you.

I dont know if this is going to work, but try drinking home made vegetable/fruit juice/smoothie instead of coffee. I drink one full glass each morning and feel full of energy. Try it, its good for you.
