Christmas isn't all about giving gifts so no, it would not bother me at all if we didn't receive anything for christmas. In past years there's been times I haven't received a gift from family and I understand why I didn't...
I suppose once we get old enough to realize the value of Christmas, gifts aren't what's important but what we're celebrating is...

Of course it would because it gives me a chance to spend time with family and friends. As long as I get to continue to bake my cookies, candy, fudge and bread than I am happy. I usually hand these items out as gifts. My family seem to think that I should sell these items online.

There's one thing I mainly like about Christmas and that is the Christmas movies that seem to repeat over and over at this time of year! Yes, the present giving is nice but I have not experienced this for a number of years due to lack of family! I have come to accept the way things are now. To be placed back in this environment would seem very strange for me. I don't think that Christmas would be the same without present giving, this kind of bonds people and families together I think! Here's me wishing you a merry christmas anyhow and a big welcome to My Lot as well! Andrew

This family has had this holiday as a day of just being together, and some where we shared gifts. This year is going to be one of the gift of being able to be together, able to talk with each other. Make time to spend with each other. To me that is a special gift that creates memories that stay with you.
Can you look into your past as a child of past Christmas's what do you remember more? Family members or the gifts you received? Myself I remember my Grandmothers home being so full with family members that there wasn't much standing room left. Seeing relatives that live states away to talk with them to learn what they did with life. To me these are the gifts needed to be shared. Can't buy them, can't trade for them.
The meal would be awesome, so many different dishes each family would bring that they felt would be worthy of such an occasion. Giving of ourselves is more important than something you can buy.

Hello Coghlanwriting and welcome to my lot. We don't celebrate Christmas! We do put up a Christmas tree and decorate it but it is just another day to us. I have never celebrated Christmas. So the presents aren't anything to us. Christmas wasn't when Jesus was born. Christ was born in late September. Christ was conceived on December 25th. It states in the bible there was grass still on the ground when Christ was born. I can't document that just yet by the bible but there is someone that can document http://shepherdschapel.com/index.cfm. Hope you have a great day!
