It is not a must BUT it can help you get your own discussions seen. You see that column on the right The discussions there have similar tags to this one. Knowing that you can use similar, generic, relevant tags on all your own discussions. Then when users are viewing one of yours they will also see the others, if they have had any recent activity. You can make them active yourself by adding a comment at any time. There it is not a must in that MyLot do not tell us that we must tag but it is very useful to us.

I always just type a discussion and urge myself to post it, at that time I just skip the tag option, I think about it just after skipping...

It's definitely not a must. Tagging is only against the rules when you abuse it. Hope this has answered your question, if not tell me. ;)

you can tag discussions if you want but you don't need to, it just makes it easier for other people to find your decisions.

In addition to what others have pointed out, placing your own tag in a discussion is a great way to prevent abusive members from adding unnecessary tags into your discussion. So, by supplying the required amount of appropriate tags, not only do you help others easily find your discussion within the same line of interest, but you prevent others from messing with the tags listed as well.

Well, as the people above have already said, no it is not a must. But you may want to add some tags, as it helps your discussion to be found. If you add good tags then it has a higher chance of being found and responded to. It is not against the rules, it is completely optional. And, as the people above have said, it is against the rules to add inappropriate tags. But you can just leave them blank. . .

If you want your discussion to be searched by someone then it i a must. But if you don't like it, then it is up to you if you will put a tag or not. Not tagging is not against mylot rules. Just be sure you tag your discussions correctly. Like for this discussion you would probably tag it as "tag", "tagging", or "tagging a discussion". I suggest you would always tag your discussions so it will always be search able.

When starting a New discussion it is advised that we Tag all of them, but when going and responding back to others discussions if you feel tagging will help, a lot of people will do so, but it is also something up to you as time permits.

Yes, you don't have to tag. It's up to you, but it means that when people search on your discussion topic, they'll see your discussion. So it will possibly bring more traffic to your discussion, which means more people will contribute - and you should hopefully end up with a much better discussion as a result. Take care not to waste the opportunity though; getting more traffic and responses may not make much difference to your earnings (and the quality of the discussion) if you do not reply to the people who have responded. Talking back and forth is what makes a discussion, and discussions are what myLot's all about.

It isnt a must, but it is very helpful in finding discussions. I tag most of the time, but there are times I have a hard time knowing how to tag it, so I just leave it. Usually, the ones that start the discussion, usually tag it.The tagging system has been abused before wheere users would tag with rude and obscene words, and those are dealt with by mylot. If you feel like tagging, then do it, but if you don't, then don't do it. It just makes things easier for others if you do is all. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.
