Just recently, I watched 'UP' by Disney & Pixar on DVD. Thinking that it was a cartoon, there was going to be very little in terms of plot and such, however, I hold back on that idea at this point. What a powerful movie this was, in terms of the longevity of love, friendship, sense of self-confidence, inspiration, and best of all knowing that you are not alone in the world. Those are some of the themes I grasped immediately from the first time watching the movie. I'm impressed that Pixar could capture such powerful emotions in a landscape of an hour and thirty minutes. There's a emotional storyline in this movie which flows at an efficient pace. I'm very impressed with this masterpiece of a movie because the characters worked well with the whole theme of the story, they were three-dimensional, and there was meaning within every frame of animation. Though a rather calming film, its strength pulls at the heartstrings, and tickles the funny bone, even if it is only for a minute. Do not miss this newest release, even if you watch it once, or rent it.
Let me know how you felt after seeing this movie. I was blown away at the emotional scope, and the impact that each character within the story. What a movie!

This movie really touches your heart. It shows how love endures over the years. It also shows you that you should never give up - that there is always someone or something depending upon you and your actions. I highly reccommend this movie.

Yes, I definately agree with you, TrvlArrngr! That very first part of the movie when they introduce the old man lights the torch for the theme of love, which in turn carries throughout the entire film in small snippets. Love had to be symbolized so many times in the movie, almost to the extent of the house being the core anchorage which enforced the theme of enduring love and compassion for others. You could almost say the house was a symbol of devotion/sacrifice which the man had always carried in his heart all along for Ellie. He may of lost her in mortality, but the man understood that she was never gone from his heart and spirit. What a message, a powerful message.

Exactly! I liked when he realized that he needed and liked the boy, quirks and all. It really showed how people can grow and love again. I cannot wait to buy a copy of this so I can watch it again at home. Thanks for the best response too.

I really want to watch this movie! A lot of friends said that they cried when they first saw it! I think that if it was a really good movie that I might cry, but it takes a lot. I didn't let them go into detail, though, because I really plan on going to see it.

I agree - I also thought it was a greta movie and very emotional, touching and meaningful as well as being very funny as Pixar/Disney films always are. In fact I would go as far as to say this is now easily one of my favourite Disney/Pixar films!

I have watched this film and as usual Disney and Pixar did a good job again. The film is really touching because it really is a story about love, both romantic and platonic. I don't know if the movie is really for kids because of the story line. I think kids would not appreciate it that much but I think young adults and adults will learn a lot from this movie.

I was also surprised when we saw this movie. I guess, I also had the same feelings when I saw the movie.
My family and I really enjoyed it. We watched it at an outdoor screening sponsored by the local community. The kids were running around in the grass, and we were on lawn chairs. Maybe that added to the mystique, and to my memory for this movie.
