Have you ever decorated your bike and gone for a ride? Do you have a basket on your bike, or a rack? What kind of "custom extras" have you equipped your bike with? I just purchased an old schwinn for my girlfriend. I am wanting to decorate it up for her. Like a wicker basket on the front, maybe with a fake flower or two. I have also thought of tassles on the handlebars.

I have a mountain bike, at the first time I don't have decorated my bike but then I saw sweet stikers with sweet hearts and I don't have resist. My husband don't like my bike he said it's for little girls only, but I like it... hi hi hi

I've never actually decorated my bike but I used to have a little bear which I fixed to my handlebar and I remember picking some heather on holiday years ago and having that on the handlebar as well. I remember one year after a New Year party with some of our cycling friends, we decorated one of the men's bikes with balloons and streamers and when the party was over, he rode off merrily down the road on his bike with the balloons and streamers blowing behind him!

Oh that is a funny story. It bet he looked ridiculous! I like the idea of the little bear on the handlebars. She is going to get a new basket to put on there, but, perhaps we could attach some sort of "Hood Ornament" to the front of that. Thanks for the idea and for sharing the story, the images it conjured in my mind are quite humorous. :-)

This takes me back in time about 60 years. There was always a decorated bike competition at the harvest festival street procession.
I had won a bike in an art competition. I worked at a movie theatre, collecting pass out tickets to gain a little cash, so each year I bought some cheap crepe paper and saved foil milk bottle tops (we had glass milk bottles back then) and decorated my bike at almost no cost. Others spent a lot of money on decorations, but mine was decorated creatively and artistically and I won.
I realise you are not talking about this type of decoration, but it brought back memories.

Of course this is what I'm talking about! Fun! And free fun! Both my girlfriend and I love to create things and do crafts. We have had so many ideas on making decorations for the bike. I made the streamers she has on the handlebars. It is an old school cruiser schwinn bike. I'm glad your bike won, because from the sound of it, you put your heart into it and that is what matters most. :-)

Thanks RG. I ride my bike everywhere. When we go places together, we always had to walk. Now, we bike everywhere together! It's so much fun. We are going to decorate it together, I'm just trying to drum up ideas to help. We both like anything where we can be creative!
