I am back home now after a successful surgical procedure. Still in a bit of pain but able to work on my PC. My ovaries, tubes, uterus and cervix were removed due to multiple fibroids. It was a bit anxious prior to the surgery because it was my first major surgery. How about you have you had any major surgeries?

So sorry about what happened to your sister. But it is good still that this happened after she has already had 3 children. My husband and I were not blessed with children of our own. We can only hope that we can bless others' children in whatever way we can.

I had surgery for the same thing but I made them leave my ovaries. I hope you heal quickly, you'll be fine and there aren't any bad effects from that surgery, usually. If you haven't gone through menopause, you will now. It's not that bad. I had that surgery and an appendectomy this past May. That was a simple surgery but the incision got infected and it took quite a bit of effort on my part and the doctor's to get it all healed. These things rarely happen, I guess it was just my bad luck to have it happen to me.

Hi dragon54u. Sorry to hear about your incision getting infected. I hope it does not happen to me. My husband cleans and dresses the incision daily as instructed by the doctor. I am going to see my doctor again tomorrow, I hope I don't get any bad news from him. Thank you for wishing me well. Have a good day.

Thank you viperuz2. And yes I do hope you do not have to undergo any major surgeries. I used to dread hospitals too.

You must have gone through a lot of pain before the surgery. I know because my wife went through it and therefore we could not have a child of our own. However, we adopted a little girl and everything is fine now. Hope you are doing well.Fortunately, I never had to have any major surgery till date and hope it remains that way. Get completely well soon!

Oh, what happened to you ? I don't understand the meaning of fibroids and you know the medical terms so I think you should describe you accident or illness in a some what easier explaination. I've had surgeries at my feet for having warts. I think I had that two times where the second one I had to use sleeping gas on me.

Hi. Fibroids are abnormal growths in the muscle fibers of a woman's uterus. Doctors have yet to find out what causes these abnormal growths. To do this surgery I was put on general anesthesia, meaning I was asleep during the whole procedure and also on spinal anesthesia so that I won't fee the pain. I also needed additional anesthesia because the surgery took longer than expected. After I was transferred to my room, a tube remained inside my spinal column so they could put in more pain killers. I hope it is now more understandable. Good day!

No but the anestesia that was injected to me is general because minor did not work on me. Its kind of pain in the head when we are recovering.
