About a month ago I lost my cell phone. At first I was so upset but as time has gone by it seems way better than before. I have no one texting me all the time and that dan thing is not ringing all the time either. I did however get a home phone turned on last Friday which I was happy about for emergencies. Anyway so here is the discussion how long have you gone without a cell phone? Thank you and I will try to reply to others whom reply to me.

A year ago I was doing voluntary work in a slum area abroad. I was living in a convent and needed to live in absolute poverty, so one of the conditions was to not take a cellphone. For six weeks. That is the longest I've been without one. During the first day, I was having a constant temptation to check for smses, but could not, since my cell phone was at a home 8 hours away from the place. Eventually I got used to it, and well, I never wanted to go home to it again!

With or without a cell phone it is okay, for me. I don't mind if not having a cell phone anymore, my friend...have a nice day!

Practically all the time. I'm at home most of the time now. I find my privacy going to rocks with a cell phone and really do prefer not having it with me all the time. I go for a party to enjoy myself, someone calls. I go for a picnic, someone calls. I visit a friend, someone calls. I visit a friend in the hospital, someone calls. Yes, the cell phone is needed, but not all the time. For business purposes, yes. To reach someone urgently, like your teens, yes. Personally I'd like to have the cell phone only when travelling.

I went without a cell phone for 51 years. Then I bought one. In three months I have made one call and nobody has called me. Not that it has been switched on. So I guess that the answer is that I can easily go without a cell phone.

Well how many people have your number? I mean no one can call if they dont have your cell number. But yeah you would be better off without the phone I say. I like that I only have my little prepaid for myself and I am happy with it. Take care and happy mylotting to you as well.

Hi Mom, I did experience it two-three days but it's really hard because i also use it for work. I can't live without it-- i need to be in touch with my family especially with my sons caregiver and of course for emergencies.

yes, when my mobile was out of service I used to have a chat with friends on another mobile belonging to my one of the family members, but a personal is personal...so I quickly went to repair it as soon as possible so that I stop bothering others for my calls.

Its been 3 weeks that i have no cellphone. It was broke after Typhoon Ondoy. I brought it to repair shop to be fix, after 3 weeks it was return to me. For me , for that longer period that no one was texting me I was ok with it. It saves me for cellphone load and for texting my friends. They said that they had missed me but what can I do I do not have a cellphone. I can live without a cellphone I guess because I can still use emails to communicate with them.

I went without a cell phone, or rather without using one for a week when i was on an overseas trip. it was a holiday so i wasn't expecting any calls. i think it's been useful, but it's also rather irritating that someone can locate you all the time. however, it's very convenient when you are meeting up wtih someone else and there is a sudden change of plans. communication on the go is great then.

My Hubby has had a cell phone since 1993 and at the time I had one also. He has consistently had cell phone service in one way or another for work, whereas I have been intermittently without one. This last stretch was for eight years. I never really needed one because I am a stay-at-home-mom but in the summer of 2008 I got one when I began a three month temp job. Our two oldest girls ( at the time they were 14 and 13) watched their younger siblings for me while I went to work. (I was pregnant with our seventh child and we really needed the extra income.) I wanted a cell phone to keep in touch with them throughout the day because I wasn't allowed to use the work phone. All in all, I don't really need one but it's nice to have in case of emergencies in the car and I like the cool features. Sincerely in Christ, Leesa C. Eph.2:8,9

Two years. Well let me explain. About two years, actually I think going on three years ago I met my husband. I moved in with him and his parents, well the cell service was not great at all, so I just turned it off, and then later called and paid money to have the contract terminated. Well they overcharged but that's a different story. In any case, I now share the cellphone with my husband though he has it more then "We" do as I never go out without hubs! lol! I don't have a car, and don't know how to drive so those are good reasons as to never go out without him, but that's also beside the point. In any case, we don't use the cellphone UNLESS we're out, so it's turned off and laying on the counter when we're here!

I actually did not get a cell phone until about 3 years ago (I'm 26). I believe life was easier and less stressful before I got it! LOL After I got it, it became my right arm. I had it with me all the time. It was like air to me. Always texting my bf and taking pictures. I was like a kid with their blanket! Now it has come to a point where I usually forget it at home when I leave to do errands. The main person I use to text on it was my now husband. He is with me pretty much everyday and working when we are not. It is useful for him to call me on his breaks, but I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't miss it now if I didn't have it. I actually haven't even used it since Friday and that was when the school called to let me know my daughter had left her medicine in the office. So, I'm pretty sure I would be fine, as you are, getting a home phone and being done with it. I'm really not that important or busy enough to have to have it on me at all times! Funny how things go sometimes.

I like it and I can see whom is calling as well on my TV so I think that is a great plus as well. Thank you for taking the time to respond to me and have a great day as well.

10 years ago, I can easily live without cell phone. Nowadays, cellphone is as important as my wallet. I can't last the day without it. This is the most important invention in our time.

Up until this august i had a prepaid cell phone for emergencies only a few people had the number but I used it so rarely that i found i had too many minutes...and people were finding it hard to get ahold of me to do computer work because i'm so rarely home. So I switched from a landline to a cell phone and am much easier to get ahold of for work. I do tend to leave it at home for a couple days or when i go on trips because theres no sense me having it with me when i cant be there to do the work anyways!

The only time I’ve gone without my cell phone was when I accidentally put it in the washing machine and of course completely destroyed it! I ordered another phone straight away but it took almost a week to arrive and in that time, although I didn’t go insane with withdrawal symptoms I certainly missed the security of always having it with me in case of an emergency. I don’t use my phone a lot but I do like having it. I taught my daughter the number from an early age with the instructions that if she is ever lost she is to go to a store and ask them to call me and for things like that a cell phone is invaluable!

Hi there I grew up without a cell[mobile phone]in fact I grew up without a phone at all!I grew up in Uruguay South America in the country side, so the only ones to have phones were the very rich people [ whom owned a ranch][ estancia]or the police station other wise common people did not have a phone. Now living in Australia for 36 years I have own a mobile phone for over 10 years! I know I can go whithout a mobile but I chose not to, to me is convenient, and also is part of my safety when travelling alone, thank Goodness for mobile phones!

I haven't had a cell phone for about a year and a half, and it is only just starting to bug me. But that is more because I picked up a delivery job then anything else. I really do mostly find it a pain in the butt, and a tracking beacon, and it is worse then a nagging wife, because then the nagging wife can get you where ever you are. Cheers.

I had my first cellphone at the age of 25 and it was a Nokia6110 the one with antenna. Then after a year and a half I upgrade I bought 3310, then 6months after I upgraded again I have 6101 which until now is the one im using. With 6101 it was lost for about six months and only to find out it was pawned by my brother. With that 6months that i dont have my phone I feel like im incomplete. I am so worried because i was thinking i have many messages already and i dont have any extra phone. So that 6months is really an agonizing time of my life.
