They say its not appropriate for a man to wear jewelry. Hence, its not a manliness thing to do - wearing a necklace or bracelet. I do like those men that somehow wears bracelet or even a single thin necklace. I remember before that I gave a bracelet to one of my guy friend but he just kept it because he does not want to wear it. Since then, I did not attempt to give a jewelry gift to a guy thinking, that generally, guys are not prone to wear jewelries. But, is it really an awkward thing to look at if a man wears a jewelry like a thin necklace or bracelet? May I have your opinion on this?

Wearing nrcklace seems funny to me. But for a bracelet, i dont mind much. Infact, jewelry are used for decoration. So it is upto the individual, how he wants to decorate himself. But once they do something very exceptional, that creates criticism. Thank you.

It seems it is common that a man wears jewelry today. However, I still prefer a man will not wear jewelry because it looks sissy in my opinion. I love China

i would have liked a man to wear only a wedding ring or a signet ring. not both. cuff links probably and a clip tie. but other than the ring (which is on the body) nothing else anymore.

I think it's acceptable just as women wearing pants is to me. I don't mind it and I don't think that men who wear jewelry are effeminate whatsoever. My brother has one pierced ear, he wears a necklace and bracelet but he's not gay or feminine at all. I don't think it's awkward for men to want to accessorize.

I don't see anything wrong if a man wears a jewelry as long as it looks good to him then no problem. I usually glance at second look if i spot a man wearing a nice bracelet or fashionable necklace. For me if its because of fashion, then its lovely to look men wearing those jewelry. Its adds more points to their total personality.

hello airasheila! for me its fine as long as they are not overdoing it... a simple thin necklace with no pendant is fine with me, a bracelet for a man is also good for me...but just a simple one a watch is nice as well as a ring... three pieces would be fine for me, like watch, ring & necklace just like that....

I do find men with a lot of jewelry especially large necklaces as sometimes arrogant but I do not mind if the one who it is a rapper like Florida and other artist. They match their personality as they also look good on them as added attraction for their fans to notice them. While in a rich men it also look good as added attraction for women but mostly women who look on them are on their gold necklaces not on their real personality as wearing lots of jewelries is a status symbol.

well w elive in the 21st century women wear trousers he he he some men wear well u can imagine lol, (not me I hasten to add). Why not jewelery, I personally wear a signet ring when I want too, I also wear usually a chunky gold bracelet and usually a rope type chain. Theres no reason at all why men cant wear rings etc etc its just another form of expression though wearing excess jewelery does get annoying like all these rap so called stars but that's the same as women wearing too much.

Personally, I rarely wear jewelry but not because of some silly macho stigma. For whatever reason, I am rough on jewelry. Chains get caught and broken. Rings get scratched and/or chipped. Its just not a good thing for me. As far as other guys wearing jewelry? Sure, why not?! If folks don't like it (pardon my french) then skrew 'em!

I guess it's just the guy's preference if he wants to wear a necklace or bracelet. My husband is one example of a guy who loves his jewelry. He has bracelets and necklaces. I do not sense any hesitation in him wearing those jewelries. In fact, he is very enthusiastic when I give him one!

I think it's fine if a man wears jewelry if they can pull it off. By "pulling it off" I mean that the man can wear it comfortably and have it look like it's supposed to be there and not awkward. Personally I wear my one ring and a watch only because if I wear anything more I feel awkward and I don't think that it looks good. I also think that there are certain body types and skin tones/ethnicities that are able to "pull it off" easier than others. Men of color such as Blacks, Arabs, etc. are able to wear gold a little easier because it compliments there skin tone. For me I'm white and I don't think gold looks good one me. I'm a silver/stainless guy all the way. As for body types there are certain ones that just look good with jewelry. Extremely skinny guys are not one of them. Bigger men tend to be able to look better with it. A good example would be the TV character Tony Soprano played by James Gandolfini. I've seen episodes of "The Soprano's" where Tony wears a gold necklace and I think he "pulls it off" very well. Overall I think it's just fine if a man wears jewelry, they just have to know what type, how much, and if they'd be comfortable.

I never wear any sort of jewelry myself, but a lot of men do wear it, neck chains, rings and ear rings mostly. I've never seen a man wearing a bracelet though I suppose some do wear them. They are even selling perfume for men these days!

I love jewelry, and during my younger days, I used to wear a bracelet and a thin chain. I never had a girl friend like you, who gave me such good gifts. All my girl friends expected me to give them gifts. In India a lot of people wear chains, bracelets and a number of rings. Now days I wear only a couple of rings.

men do wear jewerly, I make jewelry and know men who make jewelry, most peopl look at men aswearing larger chains and bracelets but now they wear thinner ones also and they look nice. I am not to crazy about men wearing earrings but I nice chain or bracelet is nice and looks good on alot of men. If it is a good chain I would say necklace but yet bracelets sell well to. if he wears chains alot or bracelets? take a look at him and see. a nice silver chain, real silver..is cheaper than gold and for some reason sterling silver is nicer looking on a man I think. make sure it is sterling it would have a beautiful shine and keep in a plastic bag to keep it shiny longer.
