I have AVIRA antivirus on my laptop. But though i was update it everyday, i have some problem with it. It can't delete a virus on my disk perfectly. Even i have deleted a viruse, but some times it will be back again. Can you tell me what is the best antivirus? Thanks a lot

I have Avira installed too and like your experience, there was some virus that can't be handled perfectly. I have Smadav 2009 version 7.3 installed in my laptop to handle local virus that can't be detected by my Avira

If you have a good antivirus product, you shouldn't ever HAVE a virus on your disk!
Avira is one of the ones that is recognised as a good AV product. For many years I used AVG Free but recently I have changed to Avast! which currently has a slightly better detection rate (according to some reviews).
If you suspect that you have a virus, I would recommend that you download a reputable product that you can run from a floppy, a USB memory stick or CD, place it on that and then start Windows in Safe Mode and run the 'Magic Bullet' (or whatever the product calls it). Many viruses can't be deleted completely because they are actually running when you do the check and so have files open - a file can't be deleted if it is already opened by another application. Most reputable AV products will, however be able to deal with this provided you run a Full Scan (and you may have to reboot once the scan is finished so that the application can remove files).
One of the first questions I would ask if I were maintaining your PC would be 'What virus is it? What virus does your AV report as being there?' All AV products will give a name to any real virus, even if they can't remove it. If it says 'Generic' something or other, start wondering if it's really a virus or just a 'false positive' - some virus checkers are a little over enthusiastic.
