I just feel sad about the cleanliness of my country(India)...
Most of the people in India just throw the waste on the road side and never mind about the road that they will be using it often.
If I have any waste in my hand I'll just get them to the nearest garbage on the street side. If I eat chocolates I'll keep the covers with me put it in the dustbin when I cross it.
All Indians are clean to themselves and each Indian's home will be kept clean and tide, but never mind about their surroundings, City or Their Country.
"We Indians are careless always and think such things are very silly..."
This thing hurts my mind often... Why don't we try to keep our country clean?...
How many of you having the habit of disposing the waste in dustbins?
Just add your ideas and experiences along with my question's answer....

I know plenty of people litter here in the U.S. I tell strangers to pick up their trash if I see them or their kids throwing stuff on the ground. It is so stupid because usually there is a trash can only a few feet away! I will even put stuff in my pocket or purse if I can't find a trash can, like wrappers or pieces of plastic you have to take off of stuff, whatever, until I can find the trash. It is also illegal to litter here and if you get caught I believe the fine is $500, so I don't want to take the chance. I mean $500 or walk a few feet to a trash can? Not a hard choice. I always throw my stuff away.

I don't think it's just in your country. It happens in a lot of other countries, too. I was born and raised in Hong Kong but my home country is the Philippines and most people there are the same. Not all, but most.
I am like you. If I have trash with me, I hold onto it until I can find a bin to put it in. I have never thrown garbage in the street just for the convenience of not having something in my hand.
I agree with you, people shouldn't do it.

It is also the same here in the Philippines that's why we experienced flood because of the careless people they don't know how to throw garbage properly. If I have a trash on my hand too I never throw away it in the street if I haven't found a trash can I going to bring it home. Garbage disposal is been a problem here in the Philippines and we never learn our lesson everytime we experience flood.

Hi earndeep, yes, it disturbs me. :) In my case, my father dirties the house as well. LOL. And I simply can't get him to do it right. :) I have learnt how to adjust at home, and therefore, I find it difficult to ask others to be neat. These are impossible situations. :) We dont have a choice, do we? I even hold the bus tickets and find the dustbin and throw it in that. Alternately, I push it in my purse, and clean up my purse off and on. :)

Hi...vandana7.... Very nice of you...
Its great that you are having that habit. I never mean to teach others to keep the city clean. If you do your work properly others will follow you, I think that is enough.Soon your father will follow you. Changes will be slow only, When you continue this habit till your life you can change the people you met through your life...
I'm feeling happy to see such a person in Mylot.

Very true Earndep, here in India majority of us don't try to keep our city clean. We take concious and sincere effort in keeping our homes clean but not our city. I don't throw the waste on the road. I'll check for dustbins and if I don't find one, I put them in a small bag that I carry with me always. I then throw this bag after I reach home.

Hello Earndeep and welcome to my lot. Heck I hate litter bugs. We don't litter at all we keep the trash in the truck until we get home. We here in the USA have laws if you throw trash out then you can go to jail. But we don't throw trash out here because it is disgusting to see. When we travel on our dirt roads we don't throw out the trash either, but we has seen trash on those roads too. I think if people would stop throwing out their trash this world would look a lot better. Hope you can figure out how to stop this in your country. Hope you have a great day!

you are absolutely right mate. People in our country lacks the basic civic senses. They only after wards shout that streets of India are very dirty. Its high time that we people stop bypassing these culprits and thrash them in front of everything. If they have the minimum amount of shame in them, they will think of it the next time they attempt to repeat it.
