Have you ever had to leave a movie theater?

There have been two occasions in my life where I have had to leave a movie theater due to a bomb threat called in to the theater. We got our money back for the tickets and the two instances were years apart I was a young teen when the first one happened and an adult the next time. There was no bomb of course but we had to leave in the middle of a movie. Has this every happened to you? Or did you have leave in the middle of the movie for another reason?

Wow, a bomb threat. What nutjob picks a movie theater to do that. Heck, what nutjob spends enough time to call in any bomb threat. But yes, I've left a movie theater in the middle of a movie. Once my parents took me and my sister to the theater to see a movie. It was a PG movie, and I was 7 while my sister was nine. Thirty minutes into my parents told us we were leaving. They were appalled at the content of this PG movie. Looking back, they did the right thing. We were to young to hear what some of the characters were saying. My parents normally didn't take us to the movie theater for that very reason. The plus side was that I learned to appreciate old movies and classic movies. They were a lot "safer" for us to see. And we did get to see G movies during the holiday season. The first movie I ever saw in a movie theater was actually Disney's animated The Jungle Book. Another time I left in the middle of a movie because the screen went haywire. We were halfway through it. The manager came in and told us since we'd sat through half the movie, he'd give us half our money back. I was with my father (I was 15), and there were about 15 other people there. They all got upset. They were like, HALF of the money back because your screen quit playing HALF way through? Eventually the manager backed down and gave us all full refunds. This post was quite long. I'm sorry if I bored you with this long response!

Amber, if you had only told us half the story, you would have owed us half our money back, so I am glad you told us the whole thing. It was not boring.

I don't know why they feel it is necessary to put bad language in family films. We have Ice Age 2 on DVD and they swear a couple of times in that movie, I was kind of shocked when I heard it. That manager was a dufus. All he had to do was issue free passes for everyone to return at another time or allowed people to go in and see another movie that was playing.

You probably could have called them and they would have issued you passes to come back and see the movie or another one. That is the usual proceedure when something like happens. With the prices of movies these days I would been really angry had I not gotten my money back or a pass to come back and see another movie or that same one.

I have had to leave a movie because I got really sick, when I was about seventeen and on a date with my boyfriend. I had to be evacuated from High School several times due to bobm threats. I do not know if they ever caught the people doing this or not.

Hi ladym. A bomb threat in a movie theater? Wow, I never heard of that, but there were some bomb threats back when I was going to school. No bomb was ever found, but it's a pretty scary thought that there might have been. Of course, at the time none of the students took it seriously. As far as movie theaters go, there was one time, about 3 years ago, that I had to leave in the middle of watching a movie. I had taken my youngest to see Over the Hedge. It was about 20 minutes into it when my son said he was hungry. At that time my husband and I thought he had celiac disease so it wasn't like we could go to the concession stand and get some food there, so we ended up leaving. I was disappointed that we had to go, but I learned a valuable lesson. I should have brought some food with us...even if I had to sneak it into the theater. Happy mylotting!

I left one because the movie was so bad, never been asked to leave although I've been in a theater when a fight broke out so I didn't get to see the movie on screen but the one is aisle 9 was pretty good.

How frightening for you.Thank goodness no real harm came to you. This has happened twice once in a supermarket but it was the fire alarm and we had to leave our shopping behind.Thankfully we had locked our shopping in a cupboard as we decided to eat in the supermarket restaurant. The other time it was christmas about the same time and we were all evacuated not a nice experience at all.The sense of panick is hard to control.

Years ago I was watching a movie with my girlfriend of the time. I remember it was an Arnie film, not sure which one, but we were less than ten minutes from the end of the film and someone set the fire alarm off. The whole cimema was evacuated, we got complimentary tickets for another showing but had to come back later to get them, they were a little busy on the night.
