I think the important thing is for kids to have friends in school, a good group of friends who are responsible and are genuine, and for them to get involved as much as they can in extracurricular activities that they find 'fun': sports, clubs, etc. I think it's super important because not only does it give them a chance to make new friends but also to have FUN in school (well, after-school) and realize that there's more to school than just boring pencil-pushing. And I think it's important for a parent to be involved, although not suffocating. Supportive and not pushy.

You cant really make anyone like school. Its like taking a horse to a pond and trying to force it to drink. You would probably get well lets just say damaged. I am personally someone who hated school and got kicked out. But I had the motivation to succeed. Thats the thing with most students who hate school, they have the desire to be more and do more. You just need to let them try.
In the end its those students who get ahead. Your A students learn from the B students to work for the C students.

I think some students might not like school so much because some teachers don't do anything to stimulate the students to want to learn, but sort of force them to learn what they're teaching in a very boring way. For example, in college some of my professors would just come in, sit down and just lecture for two hours, whereas others would make jokes and walk around, and keep us awake and having fun while learning as much as possible. But I think some teachers only make their students think that what matters the most is what they get on tests instead of letting them know that the information they're learning is important for life and things they should want to know.

I am a student myself and am at a college in England. I hate college, whereas I loved school which is considered the wrong way round as college gives you so much more freedom, but I feel I am not ready for this freedom yet as it's too tempting to not go - on a rainy day I much prefer my bed to lessons!
I dont think there is a particular method you can use that will encourage all students to enjoy school as each student is different, with different backgrounds and learning styles. It is hard for students who are failing classes and they need plenty of support and I think this may be the main reason for not enjoying school.

about this, first, I think students that you are referring to are those individual who lacks motivation. I think motivation is the key for a person to continue to like what he is doing, now if that person lacks motivation, there is a possibility that, he would give up and divert his attention to something else.
second, I think it is also about influence. influencing other people of doing the right thing is powerful if it is done by a right person. what I mean of that right person is, a person who does what he says, a person who has a lot of experience to share. (influence others to do what you are not doing but don't ever compare)
third, everyone of us is different. some mature early and some don't. some have a stable and long term goal and some just don't know it yet. I guess, if you're a parent, you must give time for your child to think what he want do but ofcourse under your guidance. don't force them to do something what they don't like for he (child) and you (parent) will end up wasting your time.
P.S on the third one, also let them realize the value of time and also, let them realize that "regret will not show today, it always appears tomorrow" - so today is important. -I think I'm puzzled and already out of the topic, but I hope atleast what I wrote relates on the question asked.

I think it is easy to understand. It is just like most of us don't want to go to work. The school has given children heavy pressure. The study is no longer a happy thing. The teachers give the students lots of homework everyday. And there are many exams, too. The students even don't have more spare time to do whatever they like. They lose the interest in study.

Don't always say to them you have to go school but hint it wont hurt if you go let them think they are doing all for them selfs and you be surprise how much they like school before you know it they be in university if they don't want to go that far it's up to them don't forget when you were a kid you didn't want your parents on your back about school eather right.but the really young you tell them what to do if they want be somebody you got to learn.

Because they think of studying in school as something boring that they are wasting their time doing the repetitive routines in going to schools set all day then have only 15 to 30 minutes break then back again to the classroom. The routine everyday is monotonous and it is expensive that some students decide to stop studying as their parents could not afford to pay for their schooling. Other reasons they do not like their classmates, teachers and they are always been a victim of bullying. other reasons they have no enough money to boast to their other classmates then rarely have extra cash to spent for pleasure like dating, snacks and other happenings. The method to make a children to like schools is to motivate them to study at schools for their own future as educated person could have a good job and a good life at the same time.

I see. There are more and more students who have no interests in their study and pay more attention to others at the same time.
At first, some people don't like school because they think it is useless to learn the outdated knowledge for it is helpless to their future and career. Besides, apart from study, there are many more interesting ways to enjoy a better college life, such as playing games, surfing the Internet and watching TV, then, study is losing its attarction to students.
In my eyes, the key to make them like school and study it to let them realize of the importance of education. At the same time, teachers should make their lessons more interesting because interest is the best teacher for students.

So long they will be in school, they will keep on doing that. Once they leave the school, they will start realizing what they have lost. Same thing happened with us also.
Main thing is that it is never possible to satisfy every student to motivate for school. But i think, still there are scopes to develope the overall environment of school as the students get motivated more to like school.

The root of this problem i think lies in our educational system . Though this system is changing gradually, but still in school, we find a one way mode of communication that is only the teacher speaks and the student hears(not listens). but if education is given in the form of discussions, i think this problem can be solved partly if not fully.

Some kids don't like to be told what to do and so they don't like being in an environment with so many constraints. I don't think it's just about good grades sometimes. I don't think you can really make a student like school unless he/she changes the way he/she thinks of it.
