When is it a good time to start solids for your baby? My baby is five months now and I had started solids when she was four months old. She is fine in eating them. But some people say it is not good to start so early as solids affect their digestive organs etc...

They are definitely right about it you should start feeding your baby at exactly 6 months old if you feed them earlier than 6 months their digestive system is not ready yet to digest the food well. Just don't rush your baby into things you wanted to wait for their right age treasure the moment for you will miss it when time comes.

it's good that you already introduced solid foods when your baby turned 4 months old, because 4-6 months is the age range to introduce solid or complementary foods to infants. just remember to always check the baby's response to every solid food introduced. You could only introduce about a half tablespoon of the foods for the first times. Don't worry if the baby doesn't finish the food you are trying to feed her, because it's a new experience for her and she doesn't want to see you worried (if this happens she might remember that worried face of yours as she grows up, so keep on smiling :)) I found a website to guide you carefully for whatever you ask about the facts in child's food. here it is: www.wholesomebabyfood.com/solidfood4to6montholdbaby.htm you will find there charts that suggest solid foods for the baby. Happy parenthood! :)
