My sister believed that you were either honest or you weren't,there was no in between. She has a motto goes that"Life is a field of newlly fallen snow;where i choose to walk every step will snow".she understand instinctively that integrity means having a standord of morality and ethics that does sell out to expediency and that is not related to the situation at hand.Honest is a inner standord for judgeing your behavior. How do you understand honest?

Hi Lichee. To me, being true to myself means not going against my own conscience, not doing what I feel or know to be wrong. I do agree with your sister, see being true to oneself much as she does. Karen

lichee__china hi your sister is one smart cookie. That is exactly the way I understand honest. You either are honest or you are not. You do not sell out to the highest bidder, you stay honest with a high standard of morality and ethics. You first must be honest with yourself, then you will instinctively be honest with everyone else.

Your sister sounds very wise! To be an honest person is to have integrity and a set of values for oneself and sticking to those values. I believe that growing is about finding out who you really are and what means the most to you and living accordingly. I think to be truly free is to be entirely yourself and relating to other people without masks and with honesty, I integrity and forming your own set of morals and adhering to them.

hi lichee, honesty for me is the ability to tell the truth in literal sense that it may be hurt or bring joy or either of the two. To hear honest reply is to tell frankly about the real situation even though it may be not good to hear it is even better though it may lead to happiness or depression.
