For me a teacher's purpose are, to produce quality, competitive, productive, capable, committed and brilliant individuals that will in the growth and development of the society. To bring out the best in a student, remember that all human's have potentials and the teachers purpose is to harness the potential and individual have. A teacher must be able to produce an individual with values inf life and and individual who knows to do the right things right.

I agree with most of that but I think parents are the ones that should be teaching our kids values and morals and I think the teacher's roll is to reinforce those lessons on a daily basis. Most teachers I know have precious little time to be teaching manners or right from wrong to kids that should have started school knowing them.
I believe a good teacher inspires a student to the point they want to know more. They find that switch that flicks that spark of thirst that sends a kid looking for more. And then shows them the way to get it.
A special teacher will recognize in one kid, something that everyone else has missed, and then will get the student to recognize it too.
God Bless our teachers.

Yes you are also right about that, but the problem is that children have more time with the teachers than parents specially when they are in school, if we will compute the time, children have more time staying to school than our houses. And one thing is that parents need to work, in order to survive, and that makes it a bit more difficult to see each others parties, that is why i think of that, and besides teachers as second parents of our children must know how to teach those values to them, so that in the absence of a parents the kids will still learn the right values that is needed to be learned. But i agree with you the parents must have quality time to the children to do those things. And those very little amount of time given to us must be cherished, so that our kids will learn the true meaning of love and caring.

You are right about it but I find it useless when the student is not doing their part in helping themselves I find it a waste of time. No matter how hard to make it easier for them but they tend to be only physically present & mentally absent then its useless. That's one of the reason why I want to quit teaching because I find the newly grown ups now a days has different mentality than us before when you call their attention & tell them that they have to make up for the next activity because they seem to fail the subject they just simply laugh & smile at you. While during my time I am very worried & see to it that I make it up. Its a big difference.

You are right about it, it is useless if we saw students now doing their part, but as a teacher we also need to look what is the problem why they are doing it and what can be our implications as a teacher to them. We can always to something, we just need to be patient and of course we just need to know on how to deal with them properly and how to make them learn what they really need to learn. We are teachers that is why it is our duty to develop them no matter what. A teacher's profession is not a job but a duty and purpose in the society that is needed to be done. I know what you feel when being neglected by your students, but just like what i have said we as teachers need to find ways on how they will learn from us and how we will get their attentions. Thank you very much and happy mylotting.

The purpose of a teacher is to teach discipline in the classroom, to teach a person the tools they need to find the career they want, like and will succeed in! They are the tool box, protecting the tools of tomorrow.

hi rjvb... I agree with you. I myself is a teacher. Sometimes students have bad misconceptions in math. Since I am a math teacher I try to do things to make them learn, understand, and love math and make them apply it in their daily life. I believe every students has the potential of learning things in their own way. Teachers are their to guide them.

For me, a teacher not only teaches his or her students but nurtures them and inspires them. He or she will affect their future. If they thought badly, the student may never give that subject a chance.
A teacher's job does not stop after the bell rings. He or she continues to inspire even after classes.

a teacher is very important because he/she is the one who educate us. and he/she is our second parents in the class. teacher who educates an individual student may also be described as a personal tutor. . The role of teacher is often formal and ongoing , carried out by way of occupation or profession at a school or other place of formal education.

I agree with you being a Teacher is very hard profession. You need to have a lot of patience, dedication and perseverance. For me the purpose of a teacher to be a second parent to the students and bring out what the best in them. Teacher should be the one who mold the personality and to educate the students not only in academics but also the attitude of the students.

Teachers' purposes are to share and teach all his/her students but not all teachers are willing to share all his/her knowledge. Some attitude that limits his/her teachings. The best teacher can produce better individuals.

WELL, MY FRIEND rjvb26 YOU HAVE MENTIONED ENOUGH OF THE QUALITIES OF A GOOD TEACHER THAT THERE IS A LITTLE TO SAY. ONE THING THAT A TEACHER NEEDS TO HAVE IS THE UNDERSTANDING OF HIS DUTIES AND HE SHOULD REALISE WHAT HE IS GIVING TO A STUDENT. 'IF I AM NOT A GOOD GUITARIST MYSELF, I CAN'T PRODUCE OR EVEN EXPECT TO CREATE GREAT GUITARISTS'. HOPE THE POINT IS BEING TAKEN.
