Insulting people gets them to leak information. . .

. . .here in SpaceInvasion.
I am fully aware that I am making another discussion that little to no people will respond to, but I am just putting this out for the heck of it.
So, in this game I'm sure you know so much about (not!), I have found that some of our enemies would leak some important information when they were mad. I have done this multiple times during the THEO war - which is now over, ending in a draw. I believe that one time I just called the guy a coward and he told me of his plans of attack, I think he let me know where he was about to set his colony. Several other times I was also able to get some other minor information off of him.
Now, when I let him know that we know things about their alliance (because we have spies) he makes a comeback, letting us know that there may in fact be an enemy spy in OUR alliance. This lead to a less public announcing of information.
Later, probably one of the most important times, I was able to taunt him into giving me the location of one of his fleets. He said that he had a fleet on the way to Galaxy 5, and one of our more powerful members was able to destroy the fleet.
When I told my leader (new leader now, our old one doesn't have enough time to be a leader anymore) of this information, he said that this person had "loose lips." Indeed, thanks to him talking so much I was able to escape his attacks and be able to get someone to destroy his fleet.

It sounds to me like this game mirrors real life. People will often say things they should not when they are mad or when they are trying to sound more important than they are. It is human nature. This tendency can be overcome with training however. I always teach my children not to divulge information about private matters and that they don't have to and most of the time shouldn't answer every question they are asked, especially if they are of a personal nature.

Of course, because of the fact that in this game things are much more serious, it is possible to get people to leak information much like in real life.
Being trained to not give too much information would be helpful, in this game and real life. Apparently, the person I spoke of has not been trained trained. . .

That saying does fit perfectly in this situation, one of his fleet blew up

I think this is true in real life as well. If a person is mad, or flustered, he will be liable to blow off steam and sort of tell all.

It is true that it happens in real life, too. Well, in real life, hopefully nothing really bad happens then. Here I only saw it happen in a game, and I became friends with that guy I got mad. But in real life it may not be so simple. . .
