Anyone Out There Ever Try Croatian/Serbian Plum Brandy?

Woohoo!!! My husband and I love this stuff!!! I sent him to the post office to pick up a package for me today. The P O happens to be right next to a_Liquor store (in Canada we have special stores that sell_liquor), so he stopped in there and found some Croatian plum brandy (the national drink in a lot of countries in the former Yugoslavia), and boy is that stuff ever good. Anyone ever tried plum brandy, or Slivovitz, as they call it? What do you think of the wonderful stuff?
The awsome thing about it is that it's really smooth going down, and you hardly know you're drinking alcohol (until you've had about 6 shots, and you try and get off the couch, and the room starts spinning)....
I wonder what I'm going to feel like in the morning. haha A Serbian friend told me that if I got the good stuff I won't have a headache. LOL We'll see...:)

Hi danishcanadian! Yes, I've tried plum brandy because I'm Croat and everyone in Croatia has tried it at least once. 
I have to say that I'm not the fan of it because it isn't my type of drink. I would like to correct you danishcanadian. We call it Šljivovica or Slivovitza (A is pronounced like a in word Alpha). Have you ever tried honey brandy or Medica (Meditza) or also known as Medovaca (Medovacha). It is also something you should try. Take care and happy mylotting!

Yeah, now that I look closer at the bottle, you're right!:) A Serbian friend of mine originally told me how to spell it, so maybe there's a small language difference in a word or two.:)
I've never heard of honey brandy. I'll have to look for that in the same store shwere I got the Plum stuff.:) There are a lot of Croats and Serbs not far from here in Kitchener, and a few in Guelph too. The lady at the L.C.B.O where my husband bought it told him that they get a lot of people in there buying it, so they're the one place in town that keeps it stocked. Good!! That's going to be our regular_liquor store, from now on. To hell with the one right downtown by our place. They don't carry what we're looking for.

LOL I've never heard of it but sounds like I am best to stay away from it - can't afford any more headaches than I get right now :) Hope you don't get too bad of a head ache :)

It's strong, but my friend Vlad was right when he said "the good stuff won't give you a headache!" Yeah I was unable to stand up after a few shots, but I felt fine the next morning.

You'll love it. Try the Croatian stuff, and you'll love it. It's even better than other types of Brandy I've tried.
