Haven't you noticed that the highest positions in our society are occupied mostly by men? While most women are relegated to lower ranks? Though there are women who have taken very high positions as President or Prime Minister, CEO's, managers, and supervisors still their number is far from the total of men who acquired positions as such. Why is this so? Does this mean that men are really smarter than women?

This seems a bit like saying 'Have you noticed that the sky is blue and the clouds are white and fluffy?'
Although I don't pretend to be any sort of historian or anthropologist, I do know that the Women's Liberation movement noticed this about fifty years ago...
The reason is pretty much a question of culture, there are some cultures where men and women are treated very differently. There are even cultures where women are dominant, but this is the exception rather than the rule.
Historically, I have always assumed that natural laws of physical superiority gave men dominance originally and that has become ingrained into our culture. Men are more aggressive (in very broad terms) and society places the burden of 'breadwinner' on males in most cultures, so they grow up with their eye on succeeding in the work environment whereas (again broadly speaking) females are often 'trained' to do tasks that are biased towards home-making. Certainly, in the last fifty years things have changed an awful lot an although 'equality' is a bit of a holy grail and almost impossible to implement, generally the world of work has openings for women at the same level as for men.
Personally I would argue that those that see homemaking as in some way less important than bread-winning don't have a proper perspective. No men are not smarter than women - I am a man, but even I am perfectly aware that gender has no bearing on intelligence.. The structure of society is not based on the most intelligent people having all the power - or hadn't you noticed??

For me both sexes are equally endowed with natural abilities and intelligence. However, men were given the role to supervise, to oversee, to control, to administer, to rule and that has been ingrained in our culture (as you mentioned above) since time immemorial. I can't understand how this has happened. Why weren't the women given these roles at the beginning of time? Does it has connection on creation? ..that man was first created?
Anyway, i agree that gender has no bearing on intelligence. Sure I noticed it.

Not all who sit on the highest position are the most intelligent. Not all supervisors, managers, executives, CEO's, man or woman, are the most intelligent. But one thing is common among these people, they have the ability and the guts!

HAHAHA I seriously doubt that is the case. In my experience in life, I think the men/women intelligence ratio evens out. I mean, look at bush. Not exactly the most intelligent person to make it into office. I believe that there is still prejudiced and sexism in our government. I think it's because all the wrong people end up with seats of power. Which ends up with all the right people not having a say in the matter. It goes along with affirmative action, and the " no child left behind" act. I think both are idiotic ideas. It should be the best man for the job. As far as no child left behind, If the child isn't getting the required information in his or her head to pass a grade, I think if a child isn't doing well in certain areas of school, then the problem should be assessed immediately.
Sorry I'm getting off topic here lol. I get on one subject that I feel strongly about and I can go on hour long rants lol.
ANYWAY...no I don't it's men that mostly occupy higher positions because they are smarter. I think that most positions of power are seated by corrupt, greedy fascist's, but that's just my opinion.

I guess, you're right! Everybody is entitled to his own opinion. And Bush is not the most intelligent person to make it in office, but I respect him for he made a smart way to get him in that oval, otherwise his opponent would have it.

It's not about how he got into office. Or his opponent getting into office... It's about the RIGHT person getting into office. He definitely wasn't that.

At present ,the ability is the most important in our life,if you have that capacity, then ,you can get that site.women is not stupier than men,it is all because of their location in life.a lot of women are will to play the role of mother and wife then a CEO,so that women put less energy in their job, maybe that is the reason why women can not get higher ranks.

Being a mother doesn't exactly require little energy. Babysitting is exhausting. I can only imagine what the actual parents have to go through lol

Hmmm, I also respect the late Indira Gandhi, your Prime Minister for 3 consecutive terms until her assassination. She was smart for the fact that she ruled India for 3 successive terms.
Yes, i think there is a change. I can see more women occupying positions that used to be men's post.
BTW, I'm a Filipino. Happy myLotting friend.
