im always present in the wet market every afternoon to buy viand and other goods. i had noticed that i have been messed up by these vendors by giving less of their products since their scaling scales are being altered. some unfair vendors altered teh calibration of the weighing scale. i just hope the market admin had to make an action on this. i have been scammed many times by these vendors. im not the only one who complained but nothing happens. i have my own weighing scale at home that's why i knew this. have you experienced this too?

that's a nice suggestion.i am planning to buy my own weighing scale so that i can test all the goods'weights at home so that i have a proof to complain with.

that was at first but when they're out of the scene, these vendors would have their vast opportunity to cheat buyers. i just hope DTI will check them regularly.

hello flagella! i also experience the same specially when i am just starting to go to market alone...its just sad that there are those kinds of vendors who cheats...its really annoying and frustrating... what i just do now to avoid these kinds of scam, sometimes i weigh what i bought in the other weighing scale from other vendors, but usually, i already have my 'suki' yeah, i am like that, a repeat buyer to those who i trust and it brings me good result and even good discount & deals... maybe if the market admin don't act on it, next time just be wise while buying and try to have a 'suki' if possible. just an opinion...

Hi flagella, I haven't come across anything like that but people are on the whole very honest here. What they do do which is irritating is when you fill a bag and hand it over with the amount you want they fill it up to the nearest kilo to charge you for that amount rather than working the price out. I only want to buy the amount I need as otherwise it will be wasted and if they make up the bag themselves they aren't necessarily doing it with the freshest produce.

Well, here in California - the weighing is different. And I think in general, stores are honest mainly because they get regulated more compared to the "palengke" in the Philippines. Here, our meat is pre-packaged so the store doesn't control that. Though there is some non-pre-packaged stuff - I'm sure those are regulated and calibrated everyday.
