The 2012 Challenge..Will you accept or reject?

I just saw another one of those 2012 things posted and have, honestly, become quite tired of tripping over the silly little things everytime I come here to play. They need to be kept someplace else, like a playpen or a junk closet or, better yet, a trashcan. Its just one of those things that needs not be recycled. I'm sure its just as biodegradeable as any other wild and rampant speculation..
Having gotten that bit of silliness out of my system we can get on to the challenge.
It goes like this..If you truly believe that this phenomenom will occur or, at least, has a better than even chance of occurring then there are a few things you need do to prove to me that you're sincere..
1. STOP wasting money on your children's education! They're gonna go with the rest of us so what's the point?
2. STOP saving for that big vacation!..that new home!..and I'm sure your car will last another three years!
3. STOP investing in long-term everything!
4. STOP soapboxing about environmental issues like global warming and ground water contamination! It won't go with the rubble decor and, I'm sure, both will be multiplied unimaginably by the aftermath!
5. Tell your boss what you really think of him/her! With all the money you'll be accumulating from not planning ahead you'll easily last the three years!
6. Get a 30 year loan!..Big amount!
7. Max out all your credit cards!
8. Send out invitations to friends and family about the month long disaster party at your place!
What do you say? Are you up for the challenge?

seriously I don't believe that the world will end on 2012.I think it is being sensationalized by believers.on the lighter side,if the Mayans did predict the end of the world, then why weren't they able to predict the end of THEIR civilization?if I have to accept that 2012 challenge,I will stop going to work.there's no need to do so anyway, since I won't be reaching my "retiring years".I will be 29 years old by that time, not even close to retiring years.I will just have all the fun I can have.I will just be irresponsible, since I don't have a future to look forward to.

And neither do I..Afterall, if it was believed true would they be making a sensationalist movie about the disaster that will bring in bookoo in revenue or a documentary on how to survive the aftermath?
I'm waiting for the sequel to see which B sci-fi movie they use for '2013! After the disaster!'..Will it have hobbits in it orneanderthals? I prefer hobbits..
Enjoy! and thanx..

Great list greenfeathers. May we also add give up exercising and eating well? If we've only got 3 years we may as well eat as much grilled meat and fried food as we please. And paying taxes..the speed with which our government acts it should take them more than 3 years to catch up to all of us.
This whole 2012 thing reminds me of the millenium panic years ago. My sister-in-law jumped on that bandwagon too and she's driving this one on 2012. She got a little peeved with me because while she was trying to convince me that the myans knew things, I asked her how it was possible they saw our demise when they had no clue of their own.
The holidays are coming so she will get over it and I'm pretty sure I have convinced her that I am just a waste of her time and she won't want to waste the time we have left aguing with me!
To answer your question: I reject with a capital R. Good Post!!

During the Y2K thing I was working for a fella who actually took all his money from the bank and converted into money orders. Great plan huh? It was such a funny notion to me..'Course, I didn't bother to tell him that the money orders were computer generated as well and were the glitch to happen the money orders would have been useless..oh well..Thanx much! Enjoy!

Hello Greenfeathers. I think this is a cool discussion. I don't have to worry about my kids education they are all grown and married....Thank God! We don't owe anyone other then our monthly bills utilities. Don't have long term anything thank God. Been really seriously thinking about a loan though. Thank God don't have a boss. Don't have credit cards. Don't think anyone really knows when the end of time will happen but God Himself. Don't know why they keep saying the world will end in 2012 just because the calender don't go past that date. The sending out invitations is a great ideal though....LOL Had a good laugh because of your discussion. I agree they need to stop these silly discussions about the end of time! No one knows when it will happen but God! Thanks for the giggle this morning! Hope you have a great day!

You're very welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed..
What fascinates me most about 'end of time' things is the perspective we people take...Like, we know that the dinosaurs disappeared from the face of the earth, but time did not stop because of it. And for some silly reason, when we disappear in kind I suspect time will not stop then either, despite how wonderful and necessary we think we are to the equation. Earth got along well before we showed up. Earth will get along without us once we're gone.
As to the end of OUR time, its coming soon (fingers crossed). But with this movie, as with similar flicks, it takes the events of Revelation out of context and out of sequence to what the fella who wrote the book and put it all together syas will happen when..Thanx for the support..Enjoy further..

I don't believe the world will end in 2012 but I HOPE it will.
Seriously...all human race is wrong, me included of course, better to give a cut to it all and not even restart.

The line I use with folks is..'If it were your project would you scrap it and start over?'
Even in our imperfection we can see how badly we've screwed it up..
Thanx..Enjoy!

Im not convinced, but I think its possible! I do believe the plates will eventually shift (if it happens all at once there is no telling what will happen to the surface of the earth). There is an interesting fact I would like to share regarding 12/20 It is the last year of the baktun, The interesting thing is Baktun has 144,000 days (that number sounds familar no?) I do keep hearing that 2012 is suppose to represent a new age of awareness I half to do more research because I would love to know were that comes from!

True, and there's no telling whether that shift will be brought about by external or internal causes..There's no way to prevent it or prepare for it..So I suppose the only thing to do is to sensationalize it to draw all the lemmings together, unmercifully gouge for profit and hope it doesn't happen before we can spend it all..
Baktun? Kool..Something else to look up..
Thanx..Enjoy!

Its funny I went to see the movie and there was a very somber feel in the theater! It was a great movie the effects were amazing, but the message was scary. Not to mention there are scientist, relgions, and different coultures that believe in 2012. I wasnt really scared during Y2K simply because 2001 was the end of the mil not 2000 (no 0 in the old cal). But 2012 has some science behind. Even with that in mind there is really nothing that can be done (unless you have the money to build some amazing Ark and I dont) to prepare. I guess all we can do is live and enjoy the time we have n

I really dont believe this BS coz there have many predictions in the past sayint tat earth would be destroyed or some huge disaster is going to happen in the year 2000 which never hpnd i smile at these kind of gossips which turn out be a real time issues as it passes on from one to another nd some make the most of it.Well the producer of 2012 was really lucky to make huge profits coz of this gossip or an issue nd we all enjoyed the movie.
Well coming to me i would say tat i would be the single survivor in the world if any kind of disaster happens in 2012 LOL i am pretty sure about it.

I seriously dont think its going to happen. Its just a movie.enjoy watching it and dont bother to ponder over it again and again. Its just nonsense to go behind the movie and stop getting away from your responsibility.SO going behind thinking its going to happen wont help anyone.IT cant be predicted when everything is going to stop.so dont bother think of it .do what you can .cheers

2012 is now a major cash generator. If there IS any truth to the Mayan predictions or if something like a mass spiritual awakening could happen, it is just put aside now as everyone is trying to make a buck out of it. Writers, Film makers, renegade scientists and the like are all full of confidence with their theories on 2012. While a few have some credibility and science to back up their claims, most seem to be fear mongering. I have been fascinated myself by this prediction that seems to be coming from different cultures from different parts of the world (like the Sumerians and the Mayans). Well only time will reveal the truth ..just another 2 years now :)
