Have you ever talked your way out of a ticket?

A few weeks ago while I was driving on one of the interstate highways I was stopped by a cop because I had a busted headlight. Of course I knew about the busted light, but when the cop asked me, I pretended that it was the first time I knew about it. I even helped him tap it, and switch it on and off. He just gave me a warning and told me to get it done as soon as possible. Then he let me go.
For any other violations, have you ever talked your way out of it? What's your best line?

I have. 3 times actually, well twice, the third time my clean record got me out of what would have been a major speeding ticket. The first time when the officer came to the door and he asked me if I knew what my speed was when he pulled me over. I was dumb eneough to say..isn't that why you stopped me..to tell me. I got lucky he had a sense of humor and let me go with a warning. The second time I was very apologetic and that was enough to get me out of that one. The last one I knew I was getting the ticket until he asked me when I had my last one..when I told him I had never had one he was skeptical and let me know it was only going to take him seconds to find out if that was true. When he came back to my car he handed me my information and told me he was not going to be the one that ruined my perfect 30+ year driving record..I couldn't believe he did that..that was also the day I gave up pushing my luck..haven't been pulled over since.
