Wanted to share this fun website with everyone since the holidays are upon us. This website has patterns for all year long too. We did some cut-outs for Halloween.

It's a big hit with kids. Just make sure you find age appropriate patterns and be aware that you will have to help younger kids fold correctly. It's a nice little inside craft that you can do on rainy days. And everyone has paper & scissors!

I researched many low-cost quick crafts when I taught Sunday school. I didn't have the funds to go overboard with supplies. I brought simple patterns in one day to occupy the extra time at the end of class. It was a huge hit and every week they asked if I brought more. It was a nice incentive for them to finish their work. At the end of the year, the parents told me the kids said I was their favorite teacher because I always had something fun for them to do at the end of class.
Keep checking this site periodically. I'll post more suggestions as I encounter them. Much of the links are on my old desktop.

Kids of all ages have a great time with these. We also used these for holiday cards a couple of years ago. Iron the cut out snowflake to get the creases out and they look spectacular!
I think rubber cement is the best adhesive to use if you're gluing these to heavier paper or card stock. It sticks very well and the extra glue that oozes between the holes rubs off after drying. Take off the excess globs while it's still wet and let it dry. The dry glue rubs off easily with a finger. Then embellish the card wtih shiny or glittery stuff for extra kick.

Thank you so much for the web site. I think I will spend some time this weekend making them and decorating the house with snowflakes. I was looking for ways to decorate the house without spending a lot of money. I love making crafts and saving money. This year especially with the bad economy I need to find ways to save money.

Some of the patterns are obviously complicated and require craft knives & a cutting mat rather than a scissor. I got addicted to the site and so have my kids. Bookmark it for use all year. There are patterns for Valentines Day, Easter, etc. If you're into decorating your house, all you need are paper, scissors/blade and maybe metallic markers, glitter, glue ... use your imagination! I'm sure you have stuff around the house that I haven't even considered. If you come up with new ideas for embellishing the snowflakes, please don't forget to share with us.
