Many have said that the 2010 presidential election will be a battle of the Cojuangco's. That's not how i see it, i see it as a battle of the right and the righteous. NoyNoy and the liberal party are the "Right" and Gibo Teodoro is the "Righteous". Forget about the other candidates, i strongly beleive that come near the election time this two will be in the forefront of the race. I cant wait for these two to battle it out in a debate. I hope i will not be sleeping once NoyNoy starts to talk.

Gibo as the "Righteous"? And Noynoy as "Mr. Right"? Are you sure it's not the other way around? Or should we really use the word "Right" here? Well, Gibo is more talented and more able speaker. Nonetheless, will that make him the right President for the country this time? And what is his flat form of government? Continue Gloria's legacy? His association and conduct as NDCC chairmanm during the recent typhoons that hit the country doused his slippery road to Malacanang. Noynoy can be considered the righteous choice. But how long will this be? Looking at what the maneuvers being done in the political arena today, we are now being doubtful if Noynoy and Mar or their party will not become a group of "balimbings" (star fruit) and "Trapos" (traditional politicians). So if Gibo will always be associated with Gloria's stink, will Noynoy be able to stay away from unprincipled politicians? And one more thing, what is Noynoy's governance program? I do really wish our politicians and we the voters in general will grow more mature and move as one to have our country standing again.

Please try to re-read things before answering back. I never compared Gibo to Gloria or Noynoy to his parents. And what makes you say that Gibo is the righteous one? Again, I'll say it in a different manner, if one stays too long with rotten tomatoes, chances are that he will be one too. What I'm really trying to say is let us check what these two has to offer to our country and the best way to do that is for them to lay down their program and their stands on issues surrounding us today so we can really choose which one can best deliver what we want for our country.

I used the word "Right" for Noynoy as he seems surrounded by the rightist group pushing him to run. I stand with what i said Gibo as the "Righteous" and Noynoy as the "Right" choosing in either meaning you wanna use. We should not compare Gibo to Gloria and Noynoy to his Parents, that will be unfair for both of them. We must look at their credentials, their platforms and their accomplishments. We need a leader who has competence and have a vision for this country. Lastly, as far as i know Gibo tried his best as the NDCC chairman regardless of the circumstances. We should blame the Senators and our Congressman for giving them a small budget. Gibo tried his best despite of the small budget, and that's what i called competence.

Politics is so dirty that no matter how clean you are you tend get dirty when you join it. Its just like a quagmire that'll suck you in. As gibo's commercial show, heart is not enough you also need brains. Which doesn't mean that Noynoy don't have both. But i guess we are all sick and tired of corruption that people would rather choose the one who is less likely to commit corruption. That's exactly the peoples perception of Noynoy. I have my doubts too in Noynoy's capability and his political will especially in making decisions that involve issues against the church. The bottom line is the agenda but still agendas are just agendas and there's no guarantee that it will come true. Cheers!

As I read the topic I start to scratch my head. Primarily, Noynoy can't be "Right". He can't even state a detailed platform. If what he does what he claims as a continuation of his mother's reign then we are going to have another economic nosedive. Cory's time was the start of the downfall. We do not want to fall lower than where we are now. Gibo can't be "Righteous" either. You can't call someone "Righteous" when he plays blind while his president (and party mate) buries the country into oblivion. Yes, he has the brains, but so did GMA. There are a lot of less popular but WAY BETTER choices. Filipino voters should be more critical in choosing their candidate. We do not want another 6 years of our lives being stuck with a worthless leader.

We should not compare NoyNoy to Cory and Gibo to Gloria, that will be unfair for the both of them. I think these two are both grown men, who can make their own decision. I called Noynoy "Right" cause it looks like he is surrounded by the rightist group and i called Gibo "Righteous" cause so far among the candidates his actions are the most justifiable. The only dirt we can throw to Gibo is he is with the administration, and that's unfair. What about his accomplishment as being a bar top notcher, mastered at Harvard. Are we throwing that away?

What's unfair is how we are trying to narrow down the choices to these two candidates when I believe that there are better choices out there. What I stated about Cory and Noynoy is not a comparison, it is in fact in accordance to what Noynoy said during a campaign, "I will continue my parent's legacy", and personally, I do not think that THAT is a good thing. (According to history) Cory's reign was subpar, if that is any indication of what Noynoy wishes to "continue" then there is a problem. Now here is the comparison. Why did I compare Gibo to Gloria? because they come from the same machinery. While I do believe that ability-wise he is capable (and so did I believe in GMA's capability), what I do not accept is the tolerance of a leadership that is corrupt and unjust. I do not accept THAT as "righteous".

Well I can see that Villar is a strong contender too. I do think he has all the resources to move every effort to get the attention of other voters as well.

Yah, Villar is a strong contender and doing very well in the surveys. I beleive there is one time where he lead the surveys leaving all the other candidates behind. The question is can he turn it into votes. In my honest opininion, the key in the 2010 election is the youth vote. That is something we have to find out if the Filipino youth wants him to be the next President.

Yes and if the money can be converted to votes he can move mountains and everything to succeed. Well let's just hope that with the automated election the cheating would be minimized and the counting would be hastened with accuracy and integrity.

I think Gibo has the brains and Noynoy has his whole heart set in this election... and for sure he will lead by example... i agree that with the coming elections coming nearer and nearer... the battle will be between these two cousins... and i hope the right man will win...
