Do you check spelling before posting?

Usually, I will check the spelling before posting. This is a habit, while I don't know whether it is good or not. In one aspect, I thinks it is good, for there will be less mistakes. In another aspect, I think it will limit my imagination, and this will be harmful to my physics, as imagination is the most important.

I don't do it too often. Normally I am checking it when I am writing my responses. So I don't want to do it twice when I want to response to some of discussion in mylot.

Yes, spelling is a pet peeve of mine. And I always reread what I wrote. plus the spell check -tells you when something is not right- so there should really be no excuse for poor spelling :)

HI, yes, i check spelling before posting. I take care while writing. Atfer completion, once again i read all lines. and then i use to post. My english is not much fluent but i can speak, read ,write english. some grammer mistakes may be there, but overall its ok.

I honestly get annoyed with repeated mistakes in grammar and spelling. If the mistakes are clearly typing error, I just ignore it and go on reading with whatever I'm reading.

I don't have to check my spelling by myself. As I use Firefox as my main browser. So it can check my spelling automatically. This is a nice browser. I love China

I always make it a point to write proper English. From the spelling to the grammar. The great thing about this site is that you will know whether the spelling is wrong since it will be underlined by read. But with the grammar, you will surely not know if your doing it right unless you have knowledge in proper English. Well, I have read some other post with errors grammatically but I just understand them considering that mylot is such a big community and some other members are not very much good in English. But surely I know that sooner or later they will improve. The important thing that I consider is the topic that he has posted which I find interesting or not.

yeah. i just got used to it. i just don't feel good if any thing left out uncorrected cause it just bother to have wrong spelling. thankfully detecting a wrong spelling is not hard because firefox highlights that. and i learn if i wronly spelled sometimes and i get to learn also how to spell it correctly.

Yes I do, but its automatically done. I use Mozilla Firefox as my default web browser. And whenever I start typing in the response box, it automatically underlines those words which have grammatical errors or have spelling mistakes.

I always try and make sure that whatever I have written is spelled correctly before I post it but I am sure that there are several times that I have missed something that spell checker didn't pick up either.

I do not use spell check for my postings. I simply corecct misspelled words as a I go along. I am not a good speller so I try to spell the best I can.

Yes, I do check my spelling when I am making a response or starting a discussion. Since the browser I use is Firefox, it helps me and underlines my spelling mistakes in red. So I have to go back and correct it. But I don't know if my grammar is okay. lol.

I have spell check on my firefox, so it does it all by itself. It will show me any of the words which are not right. I then go back and fix them until when everything is right of course the word Mylot always comes up wrong but since it is the site name I just let it go through.

In my point, that is very important for check the spelling before you post. Unfortunately, many people admire what you can write and its also a seductive word.

Hello everyone, I am the culprit of not checking spellings in my post but hey I have a reason for that. I am not from a native English speaking country so my English grammar and vocabulary might not be perfect but since joining and actively participating in mylot discussions I have improved a lot in my English. So I have now decided not to use the spelling check in my post to let me improve of myself. Good luck, Happy mylotting.

Hi,I may commit spelling mistake when I'm in urgency to do next work that is queued in my way...else before everytime i post, any comment or start any dicussion I'll check on it, by previewing it...I dont get annoyed by viewing others mistakes...because even i may commit the mistake at some point of time.

Well yes sometimes but not always! its not that i m compromising quality or stuff like that but here we are free to type or write atleast acceptable english because here we are not sitting in english exam or something like that but we are just chit chatting and having fun so what i do is just quickly go through the post and thats all but not very thorough spell check. Hope my English Professors dont read my messages here ;)

I think you are the only person who is like that. I try to make sure that when I right or type everything is spelled correct. But there is also those time where I just want to take the short way out. Misspelling for people is just the way of the talk it is called text speaking. You don't like it is your problem. But for other people you just need to learn it and make the best of it cause that is the way almost everyone talks and write.
