I know that personally I have to have 8 hours of sleep a night. If I don't get 8 hours, I am grumpy and ill. I have trouble staying focused and can't concentrate on simple tasks. It is my understanding that most people need any where from 8-10 hours with children needing the most.

It depends on the age.
Teenages need 7-8 (now raised to 9) hrs daily, and sleeping before 12am.
Adult (it varies) 5-8 hrs.
Although
the quantity is commonly used to measure sleep,
but
the quality of sleep is the
most important.
Some one can sleep 10 hrs , yet be tired
;
another person
can sleep
5-7 hrs
and
remain energetic.
Enjoy Mylotting and hope you get some good sleep! :D

When I was still studying in college, I usually get 3-4 hours of sleep. I only get a short time to sleep because of the internship requirements that I had to comply and then I had to wake up early (like 3 AM) to avoid being late. Luckily, I now get 10-11 hours of sleep.

yes, like you, i know i need 8 hours of sleep every night...but i usually get 6-7 hours only because i am an insomniac. however, even if go to bed early, i cant still sleep.. i've always something buggling in my mind, always thinking of what my schedule for tomorrow., of what i am going to do first. it's always like that at night. that's why in the morning, i have a heavy head and feels lousy. but no one's going to do my work so i have to do it myself. i don't even have time to take a nap in the afternoon.

I'm with you. Less than 8 hours will make me be tired and extremely sleepy all the day, but I rarely can sleep that long. I'm a busy bee!

I sleep for 5 hours usually but its winter now and I feel lazy to get up early. so I am getting late everyday. Still I think 5-6 hours sleep is enough for a grown up person. But definitely for children it should be more.
