Remember back in the old days when cartoons were so innocent, like Bugs Bunny, Loony Tunes, Mickey Mouse just to name a few. What do you think of animations that we have nowadays like the Family Guy, American Dad, etc..? I believe that most of the new ones like Family Guy are psychologically rigged & explicit compared to the older ones which were pretty clean. Which do you prefer and why?

Although I do watch Family Guy, American Dad, etc. I do know that they are not suitable for children and should only be watched by adults (which I believe was the intention). I do still watch my old favorite cartoons from time to time. Nothing will ever be like Scooby Doo, The Flinstones or The Smurfs!

The older cartoons are such a classic, I always loved to watch those shows. They've always kept me entertained and it was so simple and nice. Although I have to admit that Family Guy is a hella funny show. I never laughed so many times in just one show. So GO Family guy ! Hahah =D

I of course love the simple yet amusing cartoons of yesteryears. Not only where they fun for the kids, the entire family could sit and watch and teach the kids a lot many things. Nowadays we have mostly violence and anime cartoons which teach nothing good and with which adults can rarely connect to.

I prefer the older cartoons. I don't even watch the new ones they have now. The new ones like Family Guy, Simpsons, etc. are not suppose to be for kids. Even though they are cartoons they were made as adult cartoons. Though, even the ones made for kids today are not as clean as they use to be. I still think the old ones are the best!

The older cartoons will always be my choice. There are so many classic cartoons that are still fun to watch today. Some of today's cartoons are just a little lewd for my viewing pleasure.

I like the old cartoons better. I believe the creators today struggle so much to give depth to their work and send their message to the crowds that they sacrifice graphics too much. I for one can't watch un unpleasent looking cartoon. Call me shallow, but if I want stand up comedy or good humr/sarcasm I can very well go to a stand up comedy show with my friends. So ..in my opinion, they should put the new cartoons on the radio, If you understand what I;m saying. Sorry, South park fans, but it's the truth. Tell me one thing you'd loose if you were to only hear the characters and not watch them as well.

I prefer the older ones. Family Guy and The Simpsons teach kids bad morals and inappropriate behaviour. I think they need to get rid of them.

LOL did you know that Bugs Bunny was ACTUALLY intended more for adults than it was for children?? I like all of them (except Mickey Mouse)..I loved Betty Boop, Felix the Cat, Mighty Mouse, Bugs of course and I like Family Guy, American Dad and the Simpsons etc etc...the "older" cartoons are actually just as risque as the newer ones ppl just dont clue into it because its not AS in your face as todays cartoons..Even movies like Cars and Toy Story etc all have adult content in them..its so slight and worked in so subtely though the kids dont pick up on it...

Older cartoons weren't any more innocent, just more subtle about their dirtiness. I mean, really, how many times have you seen Bugs Bunny dressed in drag, flirting with Elmer Fudd? It may not seem like much now but in the 40's and 50's, that was a huge deal. A lot of people don't realize it but the Merrie Melodies, and later, Looney Tunes were originally created for adults. They were played in the movie theaters between reels in the movie to keep the patrons entertained. That said, I much prefer the older cartoons... Looney Tunes, Pink Panther, Felix the Cat.... and Garfield, who isn't as old but still older than Family Guy. I have nothing against Family Guy but sometimes it gets annoying and the older ones never really do.

I prefer the oldies. The Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner show was banned because of violence; what's up with that doc? The oldies provided the best humour for both kids and adults. I wish cartoons today had that quality and depth.

You think the old cartoons were "pretty clean", comrade? Have you ever bothered to look beyond the all-too-shallow surface? I used to love 'Tom and Jerry', but it's hideously racist. Anything and everything to do with Disney is ideologically repulsive. As for 'Looney Tunes' - I could write a whole syllabus on how it represents the subtle, insidious propaganda of a white paternalism desperately struggling against multiculturalism and modernity. And I've not even studied 'Media'! I think 'Family Guy' and 'The Simpsons' are no less nefarious, but they really don't pretend to be anything other - if you've got half a brain cell, that is.
