Would you seriously give the police permission to taser your daughter/son?

In the American village of Ozark the police has tasered a 10-year-old girl. The girl was kicking around because she didn't want to take a shower before going to bed. Then suddenly her mother tells a cop to tase her and what does he do? He tases her, the girl I mean. She could be dead by now!
Would you really give a cop permission to tase your daughter or son?

Never, ever, ever, ever! This is just so wrong in every way possible! There is no way to look at it that would give an exception, i mean it is bad enough on adults let alone a child, well still really a baby in my eyes of 10. The copper should have known better anyway he shouldnt have done it, how awful of him or her. I would have thought just the cops presence would have done enough to chill the child out surely? Is there a write up of this somewhere on the net that you could link me to please as i would like to hear the details as i could moan about this for hours! How Awful!

That is crazy and horribly wrong. I do not have children, but I do have a niece that is around 13 now, and at the absolute hardest time for me to try and deal with her and guide her, she can be extremely disrespectful, and just not care about anything. It drives me absolutely INSANE, but I would never, ever, ever, ever give anyone to Tase her. I understand if authorities decide to do it when a situation is very dangerous, they have to do it. But I think that when a person has the power to decide that some guy gets tased just because no reason, basically, that they think that a yes answer would be so immoral and wrong. I don/t really care what others think, i voted for Al gore even tho he lost, hillary., and kerry too. Boo hoo I suck!HAHA

There are other methods to calm someone down. Anything that requires excessive violence or threats to use excessive violence is disqualified. One thing is to hold someone firmly and tell someone clearly to shut up for a moment and have a talk. A 10-year-old should have a say in the matter but the decision must be made by the parent.
Oh well, we all suck lollipops, right???

My amazement and shock increases the more I read about such incidents here! I mean I really did not know that there were mothers who could give permission to the cops to temporarily incapacitate her own daughter…no wait, I’ve heard worse here of moms torturing and killing their own kids!
Violence begets violence and we are dealing with the future citizens of this planet…*sigh* I really cant imagine how worst it can become!

Mankind is the worst kind of species in the whole existence of Earth. I see mothers beating their kids to complete redness of their skins, I see mothers parking their prams right in front of the footpath in the bus. I hear people talk in any language but our language and the officially accepted language to be spoken here ( which is English, Frisian and Dutch, and don't forget Dutch sign language of course)
It's a complete miracle for me we are yet alive as a species.

Hi, diamania. What does taser mean in your culture? Do you mean where a cop will beat someone with the club stick?? Is it similar to do this.. I would not tell a cop to to this to my daughter.. As long as she was not causing anyone bodily harm, then she is free to go. She may need someone to firmly hold her and that is all. Beating seems a bit cruel..

We have those gummy batons which is less cruel than getting tased. In fact a few 12 year olds got knocked down by a cop for disobedience. That's different than getting thousands of volts through your body. In this case I wouldn't have used violence to calm her down, probably just someone to hold her firm until she can be spoken to and then a good speech about her behavior.

I would but not for an issue such as this one .I dont think I could even do it myself however if my child was commiting criminal acts then I would give them the go ahead to do so.I think that this officer should have tazered the child and I consider this a child ,he should be charged along with the mother

Hello My Friend,
I Think this should not be done by any cop,Because this is not Cop's real Job,His Real Job to give security to people so he can't do that to a teenager.
Thats should be made in a crime act against the Teenagers.

hi diamania no of course not a ten year old could well be
killed by a taser like that. these were likely hill billys
without much education, and the mom evidently did not know how
to make her ten year old behave. I am surprised that a cop
would taser a ten year old child. does not seem quite right.

I heard about this last night on the local news in my area. The girl was going nuts, literally and was kicking the cop in the groin area, he couldn't calm the girl either. The mother did tell the cop to do that but I would hope the cop would have more sense and find another alternative. It don't look like he did or the mother. I am sure this isn't the first time this daughter acted out. But any reason, I would not do this to my child. The father is now filing suit against the law enforcement for what they did.
I just hope there is more to this story than what we heard for more logical explaination. Though, I wouldn't even like to do this taser on anyone no matter what age.
