Why should I get Baptized?

Baptism is generally an open confession and ceremony to the world. Letting the world know that you are saved and have choosen to walk with Jesus and serve God. You are repenting all your sins you have committed and striving toward perfection in God. God is so good. Being baptized is a choice by each individual depending on your personal walk with God. The bible says one must be born or the water and the spirit. It is cleansing of all your previous sins and new life in Christ Jesus. You have put away your old self and old ways and are now taking on the characteristics of Jesus.

Its an answer of a good conscious towards god. The same could be said in why did Jesus need to be baptized? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. John didnt think Jesus needed it but Jesus did it not only for his own sake but for the sake of others.
