I love harry:)
If you are going to see the movies then you should treat them as separate to the books, or you may get disappointed to all the things they leave out. But I would recommend them, they are great! I saw the movies before I started reading the books:)

I still think you should see them, they are part of the Harry Potter experience.
I think it's improved the books for me :)

Yes, but that's the difficult thing, to go to the cinema not exåecting to see my whole private picture of the world of Harrys visualise it's self. It's like with the recent Narnia-film, I darn't watch it because I loved the books to bits (physically to bits!) when I was young!

I have enjoyed reading the Harry Potter books and then seeing the films based on the series of books. I prefer the books, but the films are entertaining visually.

I thought the books and the movies are excellent. I read the books as a family with my son and we have all the movies. We love Harry Potter!

My familly did that to, with my younger sister! And no-one, out of my father, mother and two brothers, was alowed to start reading untill they were all settled!
I've never thought about it in that way, but it's a great way to unite families and make parents spend quality time with their kids!

I find it kind of relaxing that the story is a bit childish, even though it has very grown-up elements to it as well. (I've still not seen the film.) Sometimes I find everything in books and films nowadays has to be so real, so alike the real world. But that's not always what I need - I live in the real world 24/7 al my life, sometimes I just want to get away from it for a little while!

I love Hermiony as well - how can you not love her! Al though I feel sorry for her because she is forcing her self so hard to get good results, but good results isn't everything. Her strength and curage is a good example for girls out there, but the fact that she breakes down when she doesn't get top grades can make more of our girls feel inadequate and get to high pressure in school.
A slightly filosophican turn on the subject...

I love the Harry Potter books.
I have yet to read them all. I normally wait until the next movie is about to come out and then read the book.
Yes, I love the movies also.
I am a bit disappointed that it differes from the book (Dobby was completely taken out of the movie Goblet of Fire when he had a huge part in the book.)

I did not think that I was going to like Harry Potter when the books first came out. I thought it was for little kiddies and was stupid. Even when the first movie came out I really had no desire to see it. My dad happened to be watching the second movie on HBO and i caught it in the middle and the two of us actually liked it! We went out and rented them both! Then i got into the books. The first two follow the books pretty well but the third film strays a bit from it. As someone said above you need to keep the films separate from the books but they are definitely enjoyable!
