My house is lit up nightly already for ther Holiday. Tree is up and light as wqell each night. Presents are being wrapped and set under the tree often as well. Stockings hung with care on the mantle. Etc etc. This photo shows my artificial tree without ornaments right now. I'm still up in the air if I will use any this year or not. I have to replace the tree next year as it is ancient and fallinmg apart a little each year. Are you in the Christmas spirit yet like I am? Do you use a real or artificial tree? Is your tree up yet and lit?

Hi Grandpa Bob
I want to come to your house. It sounds like it is christmas there already. I want to get my tree up too. The hubby keeps telling me to wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving. I think Im going to try and sweet talk him into putting it up this weekend.
Have a nice day and keep smiling.

Oh dear I'm not at all ready for Christmas. Normally the weekend/day after Thanksgiving is when I put up my tree. Afraid I'll be having an artificial one this year, only 3 feet tall I set it on a table so as not to take up too much space. I like it :) I would love to have a real one but they've gotten so expensive I can't justify spending the money on one. Someday I would love to be able to afford one of the potted trees that can be planted outside after the holiday.

I can not recall never having a tree up and the house decorated after Thanksgiving. Even as a child I recall it done by mid November at the latest. I usually have a real tree but with dad and his walker I decided it's best to go with the articial tree.

my mom just bought a new tree and man, they are expensive! she got a prelit one (fake)and paid almost $100. for it. the last few years we have been going to ikea (its a swedish furniture store)and getting our fresh trees there for $20 but this year, since hubby lost his job in august, we will put up our trusty old fake one.

I will be getting the new one when all items are 50% or more off after the Holidays. Saw a 6 and a half foot plain one for $35 so maybe I can get a decent one for under $20 total.

Today I went to the shopping mall, and the trees and the decorations are absolutely stunning. i havent yet got my tree or decorations up yet; it will probably be the first or second week in december, but i go totally over the top when they do go up. I do love my decorations, we have lots of different sorts of lights, candle lights, fibre optic scenes and a beautiful big fibre optic angel. we have a fibre optic tree which goes in front of the window , its green and silver. One year I did have a real tree, but i was picking up needles for the rest of the year.
i decorate my desk at work too. my computer has a special set of decorations. santa who sits on top of my terminal, cats who sit round the base with christmas hats on, a little green tree with baubles, a sleigh with a teddy dressed up like santa and thats without the garlands!!

I have about 1500 lights at the least outside. And this year I cut back a lot actually due to electric bill being high last year. I am planning on replacing all lights with LED ones which use 10% of regular lights to use. That's the worst part of real trees is the needles and picking them from the carpet.

We haven't started yet - we usually wait until December. We have a small artificial tree that my MIL bought for us, so that's covered.

I know several people that have already decorated for Christmas and have put their tree up. Our tree isn't up yet and we won't put it up until the beginning of December. I have some presents bought but they are in our back room so I haven't started wrapping any of them yet. We have to use an artificial tree each year because of my allergies. We had a real one (one time) when I lived at home with my mom and it messed my allergies up so bad my mom said she would never buy a live one again. I don't live with her anymore but she still uses the artificial tree because we usually have Christmas over there each year.

You are way ahead of me with your Christmas decorations. As my husband & I separated, im expecting him to come around & take more of belongings & the tree will be in the way. To be honest, if he doesnt get his act together soon, I will put the tree up anyway.
I have some outside lights. I wont be able to up the lights that go around the roof, but the ones that hang over trees & shrubs I should be able to do.
Every year the homes in Adelaide have a big christmas light display. Some enter a competition. We are always drive around the neighbour viweing these wonderful displays.

I have put my Christmas tree on the last week of October. our country has the longest Christmas which usually starts on September. .. It's just normal for us here to decorate our houses with all those Christmas lanterns even as early as September.

Wow! I think you are the winner in the "who can start the Christmas season soonest" contest! I'll be lucky to even get the tree up. LOL But, it sure looks nice. I do love all the lights at Christmas and the music. I've already downloaded several songs from Amazon (free) to listen to. Have you started playing the music yet?

I am trying to get in the Christmas Spirit. I figure once I get through Thanksgiving then I will be. I will be putting up my artificial tree Thanksgiving Night. The day after I will be going to our local park (the same site where my hubby and I got married over two years ago) and attend a Chili Dinner. All that is required is an unwrapped toy (5.00 or more). The toys go to the Toys for Tots Drive. I have always given to this worthwhile cause. To me Christmas is all about the children. I hope by next Christmas that I will have children of my own. I will definately put up my ornaments because most of them were my grandmother's and I would hate not to have them up.
I will be starting to paint my ceramic ornaments I am planning on giving to other people as well my ceramic houses. I will have to wait until it gets closer to Christmas to put my baskets together. I am also learning how to make angel bracelets or necklaces to give to my mom, my sister and my aunts.

IF it were up to ME, we'd have our christmas tree up by August at the very latest LOL. I start getting into the holiday spirit big time starting in August. I'm a year round christmas shopper, so I'd love to put all the presents under the tree all wrapped up for months and months! lol
Unfortunately, I have someone in the house that keeps my holiday spirit in check. Apparently, it's only "right" to have the christmas tree up after thanksgiving in our house lol.
Last year, our artificial christmas tree that we got for $5 from a yard sale a few years before toppled over and all the bulbs were broken. Luckily, our "memory" ornaments were still okay! :) So, this year we need all new everything. Luckily, my cousin's boyfriend offered one of his christmas trees for free so we won't have to spend the money on the tree. Still have to get the decor though.
So, to answer your question...no, our tree isn't up yet. we don't own a tree yet. it will be artificial. but I AM in the holiday spirit already! Have been since August! lol

Hi Grandpa Bob! Don't you think it's a wee bit early for the Christmas tree to be up? Wrapping gifts is one thing but Christmas decorations is another. We haven't celebrated Thanksgiving yet! lol No, I'm not in the Christmas spirit. It's been another rough year so it's hard to get into the spirit but I do try to be happy on the day for it is Christ's birthday. Yes, we have an artificial tree. Wouldn't have a live one because it's too dangerous. I've been through 5 fires in my life so I don't need or want anymore. lol NOPE, sure don't!

We usually wait until after Thanksgiving. But we do have our wreath on the door. Had to buy a new one this year. Good for you getting a jump on it and enjoying it longer. We have an artificial tree. With kids and pets, it is just easier.

Hey Grandpa Bob! I wished you lived closer because I have
the most beautiful 6 1/2 foot artificial tree that I just
don't have the strength to put up anymore! It just sits
in my closet taking up space! I only used if maybe twice!
It is full and very real looking and I would put it up
if it weren't for my cats and the fact that I got rid of
all my glass ornaments! I really wish I could send it to
you! Your family would get so much more use out of it and
it only cost me $99! But, I'm afraid the postage alone would
cost about that much probably! I just don't have enough ornaments
or the energy to try to keep my 6 year old cats off of it anymore!

I loved decorating Christmas tree but right now I simply can't do that because I only lived in a boarding house and couldn't do anything like putting Christmas decorations. But I am glad I can see lighted Christmas Tree everywhere here in our place and Christmas lantern, it is just so wonderful to think the upcoming Christmas holiday season. It seems the environment is at peace and very relax. I loved the warm feeling of Christmas, it is very soothing and touching, the reunion, family gatherings and the singing of Christmas songs can bring back old wonderful memories that seemed so lost with the passing of times.
