Seems this year is a different flu season, as we have regular flu and now swine flu. People are already flocking for the h1n1 shots, and chances are not everyone who wanted it will get it. It also sees how catastrophic this year is, with foreclosures, running out of money, the recession, and now we have to worry about getting a new type of flu.
To me, I don't think swine flu is a big deal, as it is less deadly than the normal one!
Are you scared of the swine flu, and are you going to get the shot.

I have not really been worried about the H1N1 flu and working in a hospital and having been around several people with it it really doesn't seem any worse than the regular flu unless you have underlying problems in which case both the H1N1 and regular flu can have very negative effects on your health. Our hospital is due to get our H1N1 vaccines tomorrow and I have yet to decide if I really want to have it or not though they are urging us that we need to get it if at all possible. I probably will just to help prevent the spread of it to others with health problems.

I felt the same about it as you. I had the regular flu jab as I have a susceptibility to bronchitis and was advised to have the Swine flu one for that reason and the fact that I'm a frontline healthcare worker. So, I had it done just before I started my shift today (approx 12 hours ago). Several of my colleagues have had theirs over the last couple of weeks & most have said that their arm ached for a few days. One developed a sore throat and one developed a red, hard swelling at the site of the jab. At the moment,I just have an ache & slight stiffness, similar to what I have with the regular jab.

Well, I typically don't worry about catching the flu, so for that reason I will not be getting either the H1N1 vaccine or the flu shot this year. The other reason that we won't be getting the H1N1 vaccine is that it is just too new. Am I scared of it, not really. It is a flu that seems to mainly manifest itself in the respiratory system and truth be known, if that is how it has manifested around here, I've probably already had it. I've been suffering with respiratory issues for a couple of weeks now. Luckily, our family is generally very healthy so I believe that we are going to be okay, despite the fact that I do have one child that is in school.

I don't want my children to get sick. My daughter has asthma. And it would be really tough on her. My son isn't even a year old. So it can be dangerous for him as well. I am allergic to the shots both h1n1 and the regular shot. So I am just taking my chances. But my kids have had the regular flu shot. My daughter has had the h1n1 vaccine as well. We are just waiting for more doses for the rest of my family.

The swine flu, known as the H1N1, is really fearful. Actually, I think it is just a flu, while it is indeed very dangerous. One of classmates was attacked by this flu, it is like the normal flu, except that it is little dangerous to the society.

Well my friend it's not that you shouln't scare and just for your Foolish pride you just step and become so careless to gave you the oppurtunity to harm your body or sacrificing your life.
Obviously it's a point of concern to remain Healthy and be away from such diseases.
So Remain Healthy Because "Health is Wealth".
Ok My Friend.
Bye Bye..

I am not affraid of Swine Flu, but I am affraid that people I know, friends, family are not preventing Swine Flu and not taking the suggested precautions. I take care of my immune system keeping it strong with supplements and a balanced diet but many people think that by only washing their hands they can prevent swine flu. I am not going to take the shot.

I am not concerned about the swine flu. This one doesn't appear to be as bad as the previous ones. As long as I remain strong and healthy, I feel confident that I will remain healthy.

Im mexican, and i can tell you this, you may believe it...
Swine flu was a joke, it exists, but its not serious, lots of people die for other reasons, the one that is serious is h5n5, thats not a joke.
Mexico goverment made that joke to tell our citicenz that the actual government saved the world, believe me, im not a crazy guy, i study a lot and know what happens in my country, it may sound stupid, but here in mexico is more important being popular than the economy of the country.
When swine flu exploded here i wanted to cry, cause i noticed that here in Mexico 95% of the people are stupids that only watch tv and dont know anything about what surrounds us.
I hope i explained myself well, because my english is really poor.
Anyway,
Cheers, and dont worry, swine flu isnt dangerous.

Swine Flu no more! There's nothing to be scare of. There are rumors that this kind of disease was related to a war. Sounds unreal right? Other says that this was a secret weapon of other countries. to kill people without using nuclear weapons.(Do you remember the antrax virus before?) Anyway, this was just a rumor. Believe it or not, it doesn't matter. If your time comes, there's nothing you can do but to pray and confess.

I am not scared of it as feel that it is just a load of old media hype and government scare tactics to keep people on their toes.Eat healty and develop your immune system and nothing can harm you , but if it is destined than Tamiflu shots are there to help you. So be happy.

bluesinjid,
I am not afraid of this pandemic but rather worried especially when there are no foreseeable stop of it killing young and healthy individuals.
I am also concern about the indifference from a certain majority and I just hope that this attitude will not let this pandemic become a full blow.
Let's hope this article will open eyes here.

I am not afraid of catching H1N1 or any other flu. I think that the U.S. Government kind of botched this whole thing. They practically created this hysteria. H1N1 is not near as bad as the seasonal flu and I rarely even get that vaccination. Of course, I now have to get the H1N1 shot because my job made it mandatory.

yes i am scared, specially we have a three year old son and we do all we can to protect him. i work on a crowded area (i am in a band) so i make sure i change clothes as soon as i reach home. we also eat foods that are healthy and nutritious and make sure that it is clean. we also drink a lot of calamansi juice (a sour fruit like lemon and lime) freshly squeeze to protect us too. we have not get the shots yet for like you said it is limited and expensive as well.

Hey there! I'm not afraid of the swine flu or any flu. The swine flu is curable just like any other flu out there. There are worse things out there in the world to be afraid of.
