How can I adjust shipping on paypal?

I am building my website and using paypal to make the payment buttons. I can't figure out how I can adjust the shipping if someone buys more than one item. I don't want to charge a customer the full shipping quoted on both items when the purchased items can be combined for a discounted shipping price. Can someone please help me?
