...to the first person who starts a discussion in this section that does NOT involve palin or obama. will be faxed over immediately. on to the question - do you ever start discussions in this section and if so what are they about? always the same topic or do you go for variety? if not why not? fear of being negged, the fact that lots of people avoid this section and you will get a wider variety of responses elsewhere, wanting to let the children play by themselves, what?

Rabbit, tell me you put this in pe as a joke? You know how I don't like to go into the politics section and really don't believe I've ever put a discussion in there as its a bit too cliquey for my taste. Even when I started a fascinating and interesting political discussion recently about the Greek national elections, a proud event in our great country, I played safe and put it into Greek lifestyle or it could have been hijacked into something about had we checked the birth certificate of the potential prime minister. I think that's safest don't you?

Hello, Judith. I don't normally venture into this particular playground. Last time I did, I was called a monster and a bad mother, and my rating went from 9 to 6 overnight. It's taken 3 months to get it back.
I'm only here this morning because your name is up there, and as you say, the discussion isn't about Palin, Obama or the Health Care Bill, none of which I either know much about or care much about. I like a good debate, but you tend to end up with insults and name calling here if you take an opposing or even slightly different viewpoint to the discussion starter.
Hope you don't get turned into a pie or casserole for this one, but if you do, can you fax a portion over for my husband? He loves rabbit, but in the culinary sense rather than the Biblical sense.

I don't come to the "Politics" section very often either. Politics and religion are two topics that I have learned to avoid here at mylot. Like you, my ratings seem to fall every time I post here. I have been called a racist (as well as most other bad things you can think of) for speaking out against Obama, and some of the other political topics that are posted here. There isn't really a whole lot I like about Obama. I also usually get bashed anytime I post on a topic about gays/lesbians, but we won't get into that either. Obama is clearly trying to turn America into a Socialist nation, and he is a little too friendly with the muslims for my liking. Oh well, there are plenty of other topics to post about...

I eat neg ratings for breakfast. I thrive on verabl assaults. I breath the air of ill will and discontent, (poor Will, hasn't been the same since his rheumatism came back), I wear a necklace made from the teeth of cliche-repeat thread starters and I inhabit the nightmares of political crybabies.
I do ocaisionaly post in other sections, when the whim strikes me or if I see the need to banish bad science in action. Once in a while if I have absolutely nothing to say and a great many words to say it in, I go to a particular section hosted by a rather curious blue rabbit.

Just give me the chocolate rabbit, I'm tired of playing politics LOL I was interested why no one started a discussion about FOX misleading viewers again and of course most of the discussions here are the same topics reworded. It's a waste!

Hello. What a wonderful idea. Every time I try to put forth an idea in this area, I get stomped on royally. Thank you for a different thought.

This politics section is enough to make anyone want to quit myLot completely. Thank you, I will search out other areas where people have more mature reactions

it seems to be getting left more and more to people who dislike any hint of disagreement (get two of them with opposing views together and you get a food fight). as i disagree with everybody on something i prefer to start discussions that i'd like to debate properly, with people who have a variety of opinions, elsewhere. there are some good debaters in here - with very different attitudes - but they sometimes get overwhelmed.

Are you speaking about politics? I get my discussions and responses in my email so I don't see what topic it is in or get any pictures. So if it is politics I must say I do not start discussions in this subject because i don't care for it or religion. I am neither a political person or one that is interested in any aspect of religion.

oh oh...wrong answer, but yes, I've started discussions in politics...they are an interesting part of life, love the subject or hate it. It sure doesn't scare me lol.

oh good, you are not scared. don't won't to lead people in here, them realise where they are and then panic . i'm not scared either but the debate in here is sometimes not exactly of an adult nature and can get a little tiring. sometimes it is fine - there are a few i disagree with in here who have interesting things to say and don't lose their tempers and i enjoy those kind of discussions. political agreement parties are rather pointless.
