I have recently asked myself if I am depressed. What is being depressed all about anyway. The last few years I feel like I have been trying to hard to be happy in my life and relationship that it feels like Im only getting more sad and disappointed in myself and the decisions I have been making. I have started councelling and I guess it's good to have someone to talk to besides my family. I just feel I know what I want in life, but it's not coming to me the way I want it to. What does it mean to be depressed and how to people manage?

depression is an illness that causes a person to feel sad and hopeless much of the time. Stress is the common caused in depression.how to manage person in depressed, be understanding like let your depressed family member or friend continually know that you care. Depressed people need to be reminded that many people are concerned about them. By learning about depression the person can cope, help, and keep your expectations realistic. shares feelings to family since depression affects the whole fam. it is important for everyone to share their feelings and by talking about issues and emotions, you can uncover what works and what is not helpful to one another.

That's great advice about talking to the family. I have a hard time talking to my family because they can be judgemental and I find they can't relate to me like I want. Im trying and dealing with things one day at a time. It's not that serious but I don't want it to get any worse. :) Thank you

yah your right, just like me if i need to talk to someone if i feel bad i don't talk much to my family but i talk to my bestfriend that which is my BF now.....and again the family so judgemental don't even think the words we said and real listen to every words we said, just react easily that sometimes make us feel bad coz if only they knows how we felt and be a good listener to us maybe they understand us....
