The prophecies have stood warning for thousands of years that disaster will befall the earth in 2012. In light of speculation that she will run again in 2012, I posted this thread mostly as a dare. I really do not expect anyhting to come of this as it will probably be deleted, but I have a hard time backing away from a dare so here it is. Post anything you want in here, palin, 2012, Mayan, or even your favorite color.
Hows that jud?

It's very simple. The Mayan calendar runs in World Ages and predicts all and nothing at the same time. Politicians do the same thing.
12/21/2012 is the end of the 13th b'ak'tun of the Maya calendar. If you take the name OBAMA and work with the numerical equivalents of the letters, discounting the A's because it's more convenient to the theory, you will see that O = 15 and B = 2 and if you subract B from O you get 13. Note also that the superior A's are satellites around the M which as you know has a numerical equivalent of 13.
The name PALIN immediately strikes you with its initial P which stands for 16. As we all know, our 16th president was Abraham Lincoln. I think this makes it all pretty clear, but there's more.
Add up all the letters in Palin's name and you get 52, the number of weeks in a good old-fashioned, fiscally responsible, conservative American calendar.
Does the end of the world have to occur? Well, clearly the future is in our ballot boxes.

Well, best you just pick a color anyway. The decorators on the escape vessel who do the state rooms are a a whacked blue rabbit and some sassy greek chick, so you never know what your going to get when they re-decorate a state room or a discusion thread.

there are more theories about what is going to happen in 2012 than I know what to do with. There was a show on TV the other day with all these scientist, all with different theories about what is going to happen. From the magnetic poles of the earth are going to switch all the way to we are going to fall out of orbit. Who knows what is going to happen if anything. Who knows what the Mayans thought.
As for Palin....she does not stand a chance. My favorite color is Red.
By they way....what was it? A double dog dare....or just a regular dare?

Just your standard dare.... a double dog dare would also have included such important and umique subject matter as "whats that star next to my name" and "why my discussion with referal in it were deleted?".
Nice one, ya covered everything :)

Oh man...don't you know you never do it unless it is a double dog dare...anything less is just not worth it.

Didn't you see the movie, Taskr? All of the destruction was BECAUSE of her "victory", just as the Mayans predicted. It would take more than a few skyscrapers collapsing and massive tidal-waves to give John Cusack that look of fear plus the determination needed to save his family from doom!
I hate to be a spoiler for those who haven't seen it but we'll be fine. Once the huge voting irregularity was discovered and the recount was done - VOILA - everything was back to normal again!
My favorite color is turquoise.

everything was back to normal? Well, crap, thats kinda anti climactic. Heck, I'm canceling the escape vessel then. Stupid Mayans, couldn't predict their own demise, couldn't cause ours. Im going back to the book of revelations, much more doom and gloom there.

My answer to conspiricy theorist is to call someone a coincidence theorist. The Mayans were coinscidence theorists, they just accepted things as they were and put them on a very long lasting calender that culminated with Palin running in 2012......eithe that or an explosion in the alaskan duck population would drive polar bears south and they would go along, decimating the worlds population as it moved southwords...still trying to translate a few key words to figure out which it is.

I think it's funny that people call liberals conspiracy theorist. No, just kidding. I think that she looks best in red, remember she kept wearing that same red jacket while campaigning?

Xfahctor apologies, I thought you'd wimped out on the dare so do ignore my remark in rabbits very hot topic discussion of the day in politics. You could well steal the lead with this one.
Personally I think the Mayans may be able to uncover the truth about birth certificates as were I believe the first race to invent them, albeit on old bits of tree bark, but they were very particular in knowing that everyone was born there and no one had swum in across the pond. Of course their worries were due to the thought of nasty diseases which could decimate their whole civilastion as controversial injections had not at that time been discovered. Also they had to take no heed in protocol on bowing to the Chinese Emperor as it wasn't in the daily newspapers at the time.
There is no utter reason to worry this discussion will be deleted, it is not a repetition of another discussion, but in fact highly original, you haven't shouted at a soul even though you've posted in politics, and I'm most certain will respond in an utterly civilised manner whilst adhering to guidelines and not letting your fingers press the negative button.

Hi xfahctor, I believe this discussion is more like a task, include all keywords, palin, 2012, Mayan and favorite color. So in hopes of not being rejected here goes: It was widely accepted during the Mayan civilization, that the calender would end in 2012, however there was one lone Mayan who predicted, depending on the favorite color recognized only by the future Conspirators, the type of disaster that would befall the world. Up til now, there have only been rumors of a possible Palin run for office, the conspirators are scrambling to compare notes as to the extent of the disaster dependent upon the poll taken from favorite colors. So far in the running are pink, yellow, crimson, red, black, green (eggs and ham)...which color will come out on top and how large of a disaster can be predicted? Please stay tuned for the results from xfahctor, head of the Complain to Congress day, also famed conspirator....

Well, as head of the consipricy department, I am charging you with comming up with a good alternative doom. Annie has informed me in the post below that the one for 2012 actually turns out ok and everything goes back to normal. Talk about sucking the fun right out of doom and gloom.

First of, in spite of all the hype to sell movie tickets, the Mayans never predicted that disaster would befall the Earth in 2012. All that happens in 2012 is that the Mayan calender ends, there are not predictions beyond that. It would be just as easy to assume that a new calender would start then. So there is no reason pro or con to connect a Palin running in 2012 to any kind of disaster. I am sure there are many who would say that the disaster has already happened with the election of Obama and his attempts to take the country socialist.

Sigh..Im,handing you a big fat joint and setting up an apointment for you with our resident scarcastic blue rabbit for some classes, you took this far too seriosly. the correct answer would have been "Green, becasuseMayans, hate peperoni on their pizza and only vote every 26,400 years."

Earth is too young to end in the year 2012. But I do expect a huge destruction in that year. I have posted an interesting blog on this topic. If interested you may visit the blog:
