Which is your Favorite Musical?

Sound of Music is my all time favorite musical too, I really like the Wizard of Oz too, is that a musical? Yes, I think maybe it is, that would run a close second. I own them both so I can watch them at any time, also Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Willy Wonka and the CHocolate Factory. Yes, I am 42, LOL :)

I like Sound of Music too. We travel to Salzburg pretty regularly where it was filmed. My favorite stage musical is Les Miserables.

MIne to, I also like the Wizard of Oz, I can't think of any other ones that are really great.

I've watched Show Boat over and over. I still get chills up my spine when the boatman sings "Old Man River". Howard Keel is always wonderful in musicals. Ava Gardner is superb, too.

I think as film musical it is Moulin Rouge, if you can call that a film musical. Generally, I think musicals written for the stage loos some of their magic when put on film (Rent, the Producers, just two examples).

My favorite movie musical? Carosel and Oklahoma have always been favorites of mine.

Oh goodness -- there are so many! I guess i I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be Evita. I'm no fan of Madonna, but she was perfect for the part of Eva Peron. Just rented the new version of Oklahoma last week though, with Hugh Jackman playing Curly. That's still one of my faves too!

i love the sound of music too... my kids loves the high school musical...errr im too old for that thing.

I also like Sound of Musig, as well as My Fair Lady, Grease, and Singing in the Rain (among many others). My favorite musical is West Side Story.

Lets see my favorite musical would have to be grease I love the play ive seen it several times and ive even saw the brodway one in london I just love everything about the play and movie I love the music the characters and I love how they try to play gang members ha that was the whole reason I bought my first leather jacket a long time ago because I wanted to look like danny lol.

My favorite musiocal that has been adfapted to a movie is Cabaret. It is brilliant, and I am always delighted when it comes on. I guess the Rocky Horror Picture Show would be my second favorite.

I think that Moulin Rouge is probably the "musical" that I watch the most. As a kid, I used to watch a whole lot more, since my mom is a big fan of musicals. So I've seen a lot of the older musicals, like Oklahoma and The Music Man and Sound of Music. I don't know what I would pick for the best of the older ones. It's a tough decision!

My favourite musical film would have to be phantom of the opera - i just love the soundtrack and get the songs stuck in my head for days! When i was a kid i used to love sound of music and west side story - seen them loads of times, but i got a bit sick of them. Starting to like them again now.

One of my favorites is Fiddler on the Roof. I also like the Sound of Music.

After reading the movies below I realize that I love all of those old musical that I watched with my parents, but if I had to choose one I would have to agree that Sound of Music is my favorite. That was the one that popped in my head when I read the question, so it must be.

I really love Evita... Nice soundtrack and a great strory... Even true. Great movie.
