I love to cruise I have found it to be one of the best ways to take a vacation. I have been on 4 and don't know f I will ever take any other kind of vacation again.
So tell me have you been on a cruise before? What did you like or not like about it. What was your favorite part of the cruise and finally how long was it and where did you go.
I am trying to get ideas for my cruise for next year so spare not details

I haven't yet been on a cruise. I think that the time spent in each port is limited. I prefer to travel independently therefore I can spend as long as I like in each destination. If I did go on a cruise it would be to South America like Cartagena, San Andres and Providence Island in Colombia, Panama and Costa Rica.

Just to add when I was 16 years old I traveled for a week on a training ship. I was with a group of students. We had to do night watches. We sailed down the River Thames in the winter time. When we got into the open sea the waves were rough. Next time I would prefer to go on a Caribbean cruise.

Hi Jenny Marie. It is great that you find the excursion gives you enough time in the destinations. Shopping for souvenirs can be enjoyable. I have heard that eating meals and having shows on a cruise can be entertaining. When I was in Cape Town I met some people that were cruising around the world. It was interesting to chat to them.

The way I look at it. I have enough time to do one excursion eat a meal and then do some shopping. But the nice thing about a cruise is it is another excuse to go on another one because I have more in that port to see. I just like that I can pay for everything in advance and then don't have to worry about spending money except for suvioners

I have been on two cruises in my life. One was not actually a cruise vacation, but only a cruise to my destination and back. However, it was nice.
The second, was a trip that I had one when I was working at my previous job. The company paid for us to fly to Fort Lauderdale Florida. Then, we cruised from there to the Florida Keys. After that, we went to Cozumel Mexico. And finally to Coco Cay, Bahamas.
The best part of the whole vacation was Coco Cay, because that was a private island in the Bahamas. It was actually owned by Royal Carribean, the cruise line in which we were traveling. No one lived or worked on the island. And the people who ran the shops, once we arrived, were the same people who worked on the cruise ship. The water was beautiful, and we actually had stingrays swim right up to us. It was great!

I have been to Carnivals private island and it is amazing too. I guess because people don't actual live there and messing it up.

You know I've only been on one of those 3 day cruises before, so I'm not sure if I'm expertly qualified to make that choice. I will say though that I did really enjoy it, all the abundance of food at odd hours of the day. There is a reason that people gain weight on ships, because everywhere you look, there is all that lovely, gourmet, food!! My cruise was only a local one, going from Vancouver to LA but still it was nice. I also enjoyed exercising while gazing into the ocean, I skinny dipped quite late at night! I know naughty me! What I didn't enjoy however, was constantly getting lost on the ship! Yes I do have a bad sense of direction I'm afraid. Also I was with a former boyfriend at the time, and what was supposed to be a romantic cruise, was anything but. If I were to go on another cruise I'd probably chose the Mediterranean or something. Where are you thinking of going btw?

I have also been on a three day cruise and for me that was just not enough time. I was just getting used to the ship and it was time to get off. This summer I went on a 6 day and that was real nice.
This summer I went to Jamacia as one of the ports and I did not like this port at all. I had read alot of negative things before we sailed and I now know all the things that were said were very true
It is a very poor country and from the moment you step off the ship till you get back on you are bombarded with people yelling and pulling at you to buy their stuff or take their tour.
We went into a shop to buy a few items and you know how you walk around and pick things up to look at, well I was doing this and when I got to the counter with the few items I had decided on there were all the items I had picked up someone had followed me around the store and if I picked it up they took it to the counter and then tried to get me to buy all the items I picked up. We ended up going back to the ship.
