is it okay to court a man?

I've been liking this guys since the first time i saw him on my first year in college.. he's the complete opposite of me.. i talk too much while he is so silent.. i want us to be friends but i just don't know how.. i look confident in personal and some of men and friends of mine are intimidated with my personality but they don't know that im also a "chicken" when in its all about the person i really like.. i don't know how to make the first move.. i also think that it is so awkward for me to do so to think that im a girl.. but i want us to be friends and have him as my boyfriend.. so do guys think it is okay for a girl to make the first move or may i say to court a man?..don't you think that is being cheap and desperate?..please give me your advices..

Well, its okay to be attracted to someone specially when you're a girl but to court a man or make the first move I don't think it's proper because most boys nowadays are a bit conservative they still want to do the first move rather than the girl to do that. Don't be too desperate its okay to know him by greeting him but don't go to the point that you are giving too much attention on him that makes him irritated on you.
