I don´t think it´s filtered. And it doesn´t have to be. Would you like your discussions to be filtered just because you live in a certain place of the world. In every country there´s all kind of people (it doesn´t depend on the nationality). What makes mylot special is that we can acquire knowledge of other places and cultures. That helps a lot to overcome prejudice and bigotry.
Besides, any post can be considered controversial by some people. In fact, any conversation is a little bit controversial as each unique human being expreses his way of thinking.
I don´t usually give my opinion on political issues of a country that is not my own, unless there´s something I think it will help. THe same goes for religion. But it is something that mylot does not impose on me but it is something I freely choose.
I see you are a newbie: welcome to mylot!

I am in Italy but I see discussions about things happening all over the world.
There is a section for the news here too (link at the bottom of the page) and there are different sections including international news items.
I feel that what is posted is what is seen all over theowrld no ,atter which country we are accessing myLot from.

I do not think that MyLot filters content for users in a specific country. I know that some countries with paranoid governments filter the Internet for their users. These countries need to be a little more accountable to their citizens, but that is for another discussion.
