What is an affliliate program?

All the time i see people advertising affiliate programs, but i never quite knew what it was. Could someone please explain to me what they are? Please also tell me how i can make money from them. Thank you. =D

You promote other people's products against mostly 75% of the retail per sale through you. You need to be able to make a site, and have some money available for a domain name and hosting. But if you have that and know how to do seo ( first now seo before you make a site or you're wasting your money) you can easily make 2.000 dollars a month. The best affiliate marketeers make more than a million a month.
