Why is this site called tagged selling my dog?

At the risk of sounding totally out-dated..what the heck is tagged. I know it's like my space or facebook and I don't do those..but my sister-in-law convinced me that we could just put our pictures in there. I wanted to see new baby pics of my nephew so I joined this site and uploaded a picture of my saint bernard puppy.
Now I keep getting these e-mails telling me these various people bought my dog! It says click on pets and when I do there's my dog. I only have one dog but so far 6 people have bought him and I'm up 32 grand.
I'm not dumb enough to think it's real money, but I just don't understand what is going on, did she get me involved in some twilight zone thing. Or is it some dating sight? I'm getting e-mails from all these men saying they picked me..picked me for what? They aren't getting my dog either.
Help?

Tagged is like the meat market of social networking.. I have a page on there but I do not really care for the sight much at all.
Facebook is a much better medium for exchanging pics and things with your sister-in-law.
Everyone on tagged is just looking for LOVE.. lol.. well except me..
If you are on there- that is what they assume you want.
I don't play any games on that site.. I feel all those "pet buying" games are ridiculous. I just ignore it all.

Once I found out they weren't really after my dog, I quit checking it out all together..someone else just told me if I do nothing for 3 months they will deactivate my account..that is my current plan..you would think by now I would have learned to quit listening to my sister-in-law. Every time she says you are going to love this I end up getting boned one way or the other.

lol.. I am not 100% sure of that 3 month thing- I thought I left mine for that long.. but who knows.. I look at it every now and again..
Facebook really is a great way to share pics with family.. I found so much of my family that I have been out of touch with for years due to them moving to another state..
Now we get to see what each other is up to. And they have games that are a bit more fun too.. Although In the last two weeks I noticed a few people "buying" each other. -but it's easy to ignore.. :-)
I have a friend that is like your sister-in-law..lol she is the one that got ME to go to tagged!

Hi, you're really confused. The picture you uploaded of your dog should be your picture. The members are called "pets" just for fun if you play in pets that is. It's not really your dog that was bought but you. Just read the instruction on what's all about really. It's really just for fun and it's not real money. You can also buy other people as your pets. And it's not only men who buys pets but mostly they buy you and girls buy guys as pets LOL
It's a social site that's like facebook or myspace or friendster or orkut or hi five.

I don't get it either. The woman that cuts our hair was in a hurry to get my husband done the other day because she had a baby bird being born. My husband told her we didn't know she had birds..she doesn't, she was talking about some game she plays on facebook.
