I was diagnosed with M.E. (chronic fatigue syndrome) around 20 years ago and it seems very similar to fibromyalgia. Medication does not work at all for me, apart from upsetting my system.
I am a therapist myself and when this happened it was quite a shock - it isn't what you know, if you get it you get it. My condition was triggered by a serious bout of 'flu.
As a Zen practitioner, I practice daily meditation and this way I transcend my aches and pains that are with me most days. That doesn't mean that they go away, but that I can make it OK for them to be there. I have encouraged many of my clients with similar conditions to practice the meditation. There is link to instructions on my profile. - Derek

Yes, I am familiar with Chronic Fatigue syndrome. I have thyroid cancer, and ever since being treated I have been in terrible pain for almost 10 years now. I am going to check out the link, thank you!

Sorry I don't have fibromyalgia but I have depression and endometriosis.
I think both medications doesn't work very well for me. For depression I have been eating it for 10 years but nothing works until 4 years later. Now am having less depressed, fear and insomnia thanks to the medicine.
For endometriosis I just got it this year. Nothing helps with the medication I took from the hospital but herbal that works on me.
I think you doing the right thing. Just got a right herb and you on your way! lol:)

i have fibromyalgia and m.e,i was told that normal pain meds won't work coz it's the wrong sort of pain, don't ask what that means coz i haven't got a clue, but i was prescribed amitriptyline, which is a mild antidepressent but also helps with pain, that worked for a while,i also took pregablin, which worked better than anything else,i took that for a few months, but that stopped working for me,now i don't take anything,i just put up with it,i can't be bothered to keep trying different meds
